Nice little insight into Dean and Sam's childhood. Always on the move and being dropped off at places like the library. I remember story time at the library and show and tell when I was a kid. Once a guy brought a giant bowaconstrictor (I have no idea how to spell that!) and we all sat around petting it! Hey Cas wants to try chili dogs! I love it when Cas tries new food.

I work at a library- I LOVED how totally awesome and accurate this was as to the library itself. And I always did suspect Dean of liking them more than he let on. This is a great story, it's a great characterization piece, and it's an awesome snapshot of a single moment in his life; and adding in childhood memories and Cas (done well no less!) just cemented this as one of my fav. Supernatural fics ever.

I'm a "library lady" (cataloging), so this breaks my heart (John disapproving of fiction) and makes it squeal & sing (libraries are home-like to Dean) and I love it like a mad thing. Dean wanting to protect the children's room, & kind librarians not shushing children, and wee!chester's memories.

And then you brought in Cas & his own brother problems on top of it.
