This is really good and creepy! It reminds me of a scary movie I saw about a nanny who wanted to takeover as the mother of a perfect family (of course, she doesn't compare to Ivan's creepiness). Is there any hope for an update? ):

It has been a long time since you've written this story, but the beginning has me hooked. I really hope you find the inspiration to continue it. You capture Ivan's instability perfectly. He wants to crush that perfect, white picket fence and 2.5 kids family and bend it into a shape he prefers. I get chills hearing him rant in his head as he patiently waits for the right moment to strike. The anticipation really builds up the suspense and makes even casual conversations feel charged. I can't help but fear: what will set him off?

I hope we all get a chance to learn what will be the last straw for Ivan. And I'm sure the aftermath will be horrifyingly delightful.

Great story! I can't wait to find out what happens! Russia's my favorite character and I love how he's insane! I can't *wait* for the next chapter!

I realize this doesn't stand much hope of ever being completed, but I still wanted to let you know that I think this is one of the best stories I've ever read, published and not. Not saying it's flawless, but then again, no piece of writing ever truly is. It's just *good*. It's honestly, deeply terrifying, made even more so because the reader is riding around in the monster's head, forced to relate to him and see the world with his twisted biases. The most horrifying point in the story for me was when I realized I was disliking Fay.

I also really like your use of parenthesis and the rhyme/lullaby. It reads like a tune from a music box, which always creeped me out anyway. It's a good tone for this story, I think.

Though in all honesty, the only character I'm freaking out over is Matthew. I figure Alfred can handle himself, Fay is already so much a target that at least I have an idea on hat's going to happen to her and can prepare for that, but Matthew! Baby! ;A; I honestly have no idea what you had planned to have happen to him, or what Ivan was planning on doing with him, which makes me ten times more worried about him fj;ahjf;ad he loves his new big brother *so much* and (I admit) his interactions with Ivan are probably my most favorite parts of this fic, and I hope you had planned on him being okay. I hope very much so.

So. Yeah! I just wanted to let you know that I really like this story, and even if it's never updated again, the two chapters that are here are loaded with enough awesome and I'm glad I was able to read them.

I really LOVE the lullaby! And I like that all sorts of lullabies play whenever anyone comes near Alfred. That's both creepy and lovely at the same time. :3
