There was me going to go to bed for my insanely start tomorrow, but you only have one review on this and it really deserves more.

I really, really, REALLY loved this.

This is why:

First, the idea. This notion, Matt helping Mello after the base explosion, has become practically canon and I can't get enough of it. Stories that dwell on the difficulty of it, highlight the connection between them without dwelling it, I love that kind of thing. And when it's done well... well, let's just say you did it VERY well.

Secondly, your characterisation. Both Matt and Mello are perfectly beautiful here. I love how you do Mello's delusions slipping into unconsciousness and Matt's freak out slipping into sleeplessly strungout-ness. It blends together perfectly, the two parts playing off each other, and it just turns out amazingly. You reach inside their heads, and make it believable, because at the end of the day they really are just teenage boys.

Thirdly, when you stretch it out beyond their characterisation, and you go for description and a bit of externalism and stuff that you wouldn't find inside their heads, but you paint it perfectly and blend it in so well.

You deserve a better review, but I'm so sorry, I really need to sleep. I'll just leave you with the biggest thank you ever, you're inspiring me back to DN again, something I love. Thank you for writing, this is fantastic. Instafave.
