Gorgeously tragic. I loved it. The only ways i could even think of making it better (and these might not work) was focusing less on the ambush and or making it pure dialog.

But it was perfect. So ignore that

I give myself one lousy day to do some reading, before I have to get back to writing, and you do this to me. That is just cruel, really cruel.

That was very nice, very sad, but very nice. The moonlight imagery worked well, in the lead in to the story.

I don't think you needed as much of the ambush as you used. I think it might be stronger if it is just the two of them in the aftermath. What is important, at least to this reader, is how they face Sokka's death.

Just my opinion, for what it's worth.
