I love your work. Even the smallest pieces still manage to be inspiring pieces of writing. Most amazing I find is your ability to insert all the perfect details and describe them in familiar ways, but not cliche ways so as to forget them. Fantastic, fantastic, fantastic. That last line makes the story. I love stories about Jou and Shizuka. Such a wonderful sibling pair.

I used to work at a school for the blind, and it's definitely true that it's no "safe haven" from the same kinds of cliques and stuff other schools form. The lines seem to fall less along how long you've been blind than on how blind you are, although the kids seemed to mix pretty well. I think it's actually a bigger deal with the deaf kids (the school I worked at was schools for the blind and the deaf, and I worked with both populations) because there's a bit of a stigma in Deaf Culture against being too oral and not using enough sign.

But I digress. Great look into Shizuka's mind and her view on her brother. She certainly sees better than her mother does.

Love it. It's a shame that there aren't too many fics like this. Jounouchi and his sister are so close despite the distances they have between them, which in of itself is admirable. Lovely writing. _
