It was short and sweet and I was interested in your viewpoint on Neal's ability to trust. I was pleasantly surprised by the warm ending - and I say warm not because of the bullet, obviously, but the fact that Peter and Neal are together and trust each other as friends and partners.

Great work! I'd love to read more, especially if you'd like to turn that last scene into a longer one-shot or multi-chapter fic. ^_^

Wow; very neat! Loved how you subtly integrated the reason for the contemplation in the end. Usually these reflections have no real plot, they're just the characters thinking about prior events (I should know; I wrote one myself). Neal taking a bullet for Peter and trusting that Peter would get the bad guy, save him, and stay with him... definitely a reason for the reflection! You worked a bit of a backstory in there, a bit of an actual plot, and a little bit of trust ;) Loved it!
