Definitely an interesting AU...

i enjoyed this 'episode,' too! i like the background you added to the story. i didn't care so much for forcing it to follow canon - but that's just me; i'm not a big adherent to following canon religiously. it's interesting to see the different reasons for the canon actions and plotlines.

i especially loved when ianto confessed to his 'problem.' and then broke jack's heart over the dichotomy of being stuck living forever vs being able to stay with his lover forever. oh dear... this could lead to conflict later down the line...

i look forward to the next episode! and am leery of finishing it because i don't see any further episodes afterwards...!

Thank you for adding to this wonderful, well written and captivating story (now that this part's finished I had to re-read from the very beginning, and it was just as enjoyable and entertaining as the first time through). I love the boys' dynamics - that they are open both privately and publicly in their feelings for each other. While I accept that this is an appropriate place to stop, as it now takes us into AU season 1, just wanted you to know that if you ever consider adding further adventures, I'm sure there's a huge fan base just waiting to follow along. Thank you.

I like how you set up the arm fracture as a possible reason for Ianto to not be in the field and thus thought of as less important by Gwen. However, will this version of Ianto be her trainer and mentor, so she learns better sooner than later, or will another project keep them apart, furthering her wrong assumptions? Looking forward to seeing how you play it out.

oh my. I'm just a little disturbed by the way prisoner!Jack keeps popping out and then goes away again so suddenly. but you handled the story arc so deftly, I really think it works well. good job!

And that brings us up to the beginning of the canon series. Good story! I enjoyed it! Will there be more, please?

Brava on finishing this one. And while I love all the interaction btwn Jack and Ianto as well as with Tosh and Owen - I can't say that I'm at all pleased that you're bringing Gwen on as a teammember. I thought she was a horrible choice in the show and continue to loathe her even in the teaser/trailers for the newest STARZ Torchwood Miracle Day stuff. eeewww... The character was poorly written and not portrayed any better imo.

But I'm still glad to see more of this 'verse. And can't wait for more!

This is a fantastic continuation of Jack & Ianto's story.

When I found this, after reading the first chapter, I went back and re-read the very beginning, from the moment this story began until they arrived at Jackie's flat. I am just as horrified now as I was the first time I read it. To see Jack come so far, I think I feel as proud and rewarded as Ianto does.

This is hands-down one of the most emotionally charged series I've ever read, and I'm at close to 1000 pieces read of fanfic now. You grab your reader by the throat the moment the story starts, and rather than letting go, you actually tighten your grip on us as the story progresses.

You are one of the most amazing talents I've ever seen and I thank you so much for sharing with us, with me. I cannot wait to see what happens with Jack & Ianto; I want to see how on Earth he copes being onboard the Valiant and at the hands of the Master; I would imagine to Jack, it will be as though Ianto had never rescued him in the first place.
