Well you've certainly whet my appetite! Can't wait to see more!

I must say i find it interesting but the question is begging to be asked When does this story take place. because from 1812 to somewhere int he middle of 1814 the americans and british were at war... eh but this is a fanfic of historical fantasy so who's to say that would come about no? anyways I really like where it is going and cannot wait to read the rest considering I'm getting tired of hearing of the brits in the temeraire series especially after reading through tongues of serpents and getting a small peek into American dragons and such.

nice story, i especially liked the idea of the Quetzacoatl.

one thing when the woman says: "One person to one dragon, a woman to a female and a man to a male." and temeraire says "like the chinese"

as i understand it the chinese dragons have no captains at all and are raised and educated by other dragons to prevent humans taking advantage of them when they are too young to know any better. with the possible exception of the celestials who do seem to be given human companions at some stage (members of the imperial family) but these are given with no regard to gender.

apart from that minor issue a story 'd love to see more of.
