This is so sad. To think of living with all that guilt for the rest of your life... Marvel was fortunate when he got killed, because, unlike Gale, he didn't have to be alive to feel bad about killing a little girl. (Unless he went to Hell, of course, where he'd feel awful, anyway).

Prim's death is so haunting. I never really thought about how gale would take it. Thank you for painting such a sad picture.

I had never read something entirely about Gale's feelings of guilt and finished with a lump in my throat. This is just that good.

This was wonderful! Terrible, and so "true" but really really wonderfully beautiful! I absolutely adored it, and it was perfect: every word! My favourite paragraph was: "It was those bombs. Those fucking bombs. If he could take them back, he would. He's not even sure that there's his, but he'd take them back anyway. Maybe then he could have a peaceful night's sleep. Maybe then he could forget the war. Maybe then he could be free."

But all was amazing!

That was...AWESOME! I love how you wrote this! From the books gale always came across as a person who didn't mind killing people for the war, and I think you captured him just right.
