great as always

I've read this before, but I don't think that I left a review. Truthfully, this is one of the most beautiful Krillen-pieces out there. I love how you write him, how you wrote the seriousness of what he felt for 18. I've always liked Krillen, and I haven't felt that, fanfictionally speaking, he's gotten the credit he deserved. At least, not until now.

Oh, as a sidenote - I also love what you did with Piccolo in this story ^^ You wrote little of him, but you wrote it all so clearly that I just had to comment on it.

I'm tired, sick, eating lunch, coughing, having writer's block, having to clean up this place, grumpy at the computer for not working right (the word processor's screwed), and completely and utterly awed at this story.

...why the HECK haven't I reviewed?

This is probably the strangest time ever to be thinking of romantic interests. I mean, let's face it - Tien & Yamucha (trading their infamous "I always knew you were a person of honor...and also a little pig-headed" "I think I like the honor excuse better) are rushing off to battle, following Piccolo's lead (I don't remember his quote, but it had something to do with the friendship that Gohan gave him), Kuririn's best friend had just blew himself up in an effort (in vain) to save the planet, his best friend's son - also a good friend of his - is firing a kamehameha that could probably rid the world of their energy problems forever, and he's thinking about his hopeless infatuation (more like love *snicker*) with Juuhachi. Adorable, really. The "oh, listen to me - I'm pitiful!" bit was halarious; and you know what? I could just imagine Kuririn thinking that too when they're battling for the fate of the world. Total in-character-ness! ;)

Especially the way you made him analyze his own feelings, with Bulma (and his comparision with Vegeta. And Yamucha. No offense to him, but I doubt Bulma would choose him over Yamucha at any rate - Kuririn doesn't really know how to show his feelings at that point, and Bulma's a headstrong kinda person. Don't think they're compatable), and Maron. Especially Maron - where she was the first girl that actually "liked him back". That was just so sweet!

And aside from the sweetness, it was a tad amusing too. "If Gohan doesn’t win . . . if he doesn’t manage to pull a Goku (as I’ve come to call miracles at the last minute), then we’re all doomed." Pull a Goku? O_o Strange name, but very fitting. I was giggling myself into fits at the time!

However, despite the purpose of the story, I think my favourite bits were about the jinzouningen and the ties they have with each other (in fact, that why I came back to re-read this - I couldn't find any good jinzouningen fics. -_-) While not the point of the story, the bonds hinted between Juuroku, Juuhachi, and Juunana were prominent nonetheless, and I appreciated the effort to include them. Jinzouningen stories - good ones, anyway - are becoming rather scarce on the realms of fanfiction.net...

Anyhow, great as usual, especially keeping everyone in-character. I swear, did you steal one of Bulma's mind-readers or something? How else do you get into their heads so perfectly like this?

My gosh, what a wonderfully written story. You probably hear this a lot, but this is a great story. No really, it is.

This story just holds a new meaning to the saying, "it's better to love and lost, than to have never loved before." Or something along the line. You've pointed out in the story where Krillen knows the reason she stayed was because he was cute, in a kid sort of way. I couldn't help but think that was why Krillen stayed with Maron, knowing that she could probably be the only woman that would give him something closer to love.

"I almost wish she was awake . . . but that would mean she’d beat me up, then fly away and never come back." This is so amusing and that's why it's also my favorite part. I couldn't help but crack a smile.

I don't know where your eyes wander off to when you watch DB/Z/GT. I mean, do you look at every bit of details? Jeez, poor eyes. I guess that's what makes you unique, and I doubt anyone can come as close as this story. It's so good! (Not in a food kind of way.)

I don't know what else to say about this story, but you certainly perked my interest to read your other fics.

WOW! Possibly the best K/18 fic I've ever read. No kidding. FANTASIC! Excellent work. Just plain beautiful. I am completely blown away, and it's the first time that's ever happened to me. I am now on my way to check out your other fics, and read those too. Again, fantastic work.

Heh heh heh...poor little confused Kuririn...denial, denial! (Don't say a word, missy!) I loved all the little humourous thoughts and comments you entwined into such a serious situation...so typically Kuririn! Of course I can't remember any of them for an example...o well. Life goes on. Anyway...good character development, AGAIN. You always analyze the characters, even the minor ones, down to the details that probably only you noticed. Anyway...keep it up...I think there's still another story I have to review...*rolls eyes*...I still don't understand HOW you can think up so many ideas! Yadda yadda, I'm just rambling now.
