Fabulous. I love Mal/Inara, but you write all of the characters really well, so I enjoy all of the interactions.

Interesting annalysis of how the pain one member of a couple goes through is also experienced, though differently, by the other, evidenced by Mal's "maybe gettin shot is the easier job".

Mal and Inara are so rare these days, thanks for posting.

I was just talking with a friend of mine about the possibility that Zoe might leave her daughter with Inara while out on Jobs with Mal and as an escape plan.

Also, Grace seems to be becoming a popular name for Zoe's little girl. I like it quite a bit myself. :)
