At 1st i thought this story will have bittersweet ending(which i hate as bad as i hate deathfic) but glad that didn't turn out that way

That's one looong oneshot. Good one at that, I read it all at one go, which rarely happens even with shorter one-shots. I had a very bad feeling somewhere after the middle, that this going to be a death fic. Thank God I was wrong.

Wow. That was one hell of an emotional rollercoaster. I literally had to pace myself and read it in sections. Now that it's done I wish there was more... such is life.

That was an amazingly well written 'oneshot'. The characters were so real and raw. You really hit the mark. Well done.

I just Had to give you a review. This story is Amazing! I love how you spent the time to write this well. The story is definitely unique, intriguing, and oh-so-welcome. I am SO grateful for not hearing the "you're mine" dialogue being thrown around. I love the details that you put into the environment too because it wasn't overbearingly in your face (1 chunk[s] of long paragraph[s] just describing what furniture is placed where).

It would have been nice to get more details about the whole "Sasuke destroying Orochimaru," but I can imagine those details taking up another 10,000 words, so what you have now is just fine.

Thank you for writing this Amazing story! It makes my life so much better when I am able to find gems like these (your story[ies]) around. Thank you, thank you, thank you. I hope you will continue writing more stories, no matter what kind of stories they are.

This has got to be the longest one-shot that I've ever read. But it was worth it! I was really worried at first that Sasuke's and Naruto's love for each other will be rushed, but that didn't happen. Everything was perfect. Loved it. Thank you so much.

Can I just say that this is by FAR one of my absolute FAVOURITE stories I have ever read? It was an emotional roller-coaster from start to finish and ugh, I just loved the way their relationship progressed and Tenten at the end? Epic.
This was honestly a fantastic story so thanks for writing it. It was magnificently written, in depth plot and just wow. Simply wow.

That was fantastic. I absolutely adore the mix of war and love in the story. It was bittersweet and truthfully I was glad to see it ended up with a sweet ending (I was expecting something tragic to happen at the end and was surprised also rather glad it didn't).
You did an amazing job in setting. It really felt like Japan through your words and I loved the slow (realistic) build up in their relationship. I'm also rather surprised that the whole story was a one-shot. Even so it didn't feel rushed in any way. Usually I find that one-shots seem a bit rushed, parts of the story are just left wide open without any explanation, definitely not with this one. You even gave a glimpse into what they might be doing in the future at the end.
Overall I just loved the story! : )

I have to admit that this is probably the best AU Naruto oneshot ever. I think it was nice to see that you didn't divide into several chapters seeing that it could easily have been. The story seems to keep a better emotional pace when there isn't a sudden stop and a need to click onto the next part. I love this story to death when I first read it, which was about a year ago. I wanted to reread a story in my favs and well, I happened to come across this. Anyway, I just wanted to say I loved this story. ;)

That was really long and complex for one chapter, but I loved it! I'm happy you had naruto and sasuke get together in the end. :)

So I found this on the sn_exchange as somebody recommended it, actually read this on your livejournal, but thought I'd leave a review here partially because archives these things better, but mostly because... the review count on this story is criminally low. And I will tell you why.

Because this is the best damned Naruto/Sasuke story I have ever read. And I have spent the last three weeks doing nothing but hunting down amazing Naruto/Sasuke fanfiction. So... dear lord. It's taking all my self-restraint not to write you like... a sappy love poem or ask you to marry me. haha

The fights you write are amazing. They're detailed, they're attention-grabbing with just the right pacing. You talk about blocking and arms flying and jumping out of the way of fists and... damn. Your fights are just really fun to read, and I could clearly picture them in my head. Not to mention that Naruto and Sasuke are... most attractive when they're trying to beat the living daylights out of each other. I think you captured the essential Naruto/Sasuke dynamic perfectly.

To add to it, the emotional development of Naruto is very realistic. You really see where he's coming from, how he comes together with Sasuke, and what keeps them together at the end. His mourning for Sakura, Sai, Iruka and everybody else was heart wrenching. His habitual cleaning of their graves a great example of "show, don't tell" in writing. His hidden bisexuality is both sad, and a point of glee for my personal head cannon. Bisexual Naruto makes me happy.

Speaking of "show, don't tell" in writing... You are a masterful writer, not just in how you build your plot and characterization too, and the world-building... But in just how you use words and images. The story is written from Naruto's point of view, so we don't really get to "see" inside Sasuke's head a lot. So then, in the middle of one of their early fights, when Naruto hasn't really admitted to himself yet that he's attracted to Sasuke, we get this line, "His fingers dig into the other man's upper arm and Naruto is so close he can smell the green tea on his breath."

I cannot say why, but I found the mentioning of green tea on Sasuke's breath really striking in this part. They're in the middle of tearing each other apart, they're bloody, the fight is serious, they're suddenly close and... The reader realizes suddenly that Sasuke likes green tea, and has a flash of him sitting at a table somewhere sipping a cup before the fight. To have Naruto recognize it's green tea on this stranger's breath was just such an... intimate moment. It was brilliant, and it hooked me right in.

Your smut is also brilliant, not only because it's realistic, hot and well-written, with just the right amount of detail... but because your smut ALSO contributes to showing how their relationship grown and develops. How it becomes less about the fighting, and more about understanding each other and tenderness and... well, it still stays kinky. haha When Naruto goes down on Sasuke the first time in the bathroom and thinks that it's really kinda gross and has to wash his mouth out after... Madame, I have to applaud you. It made me laugh, and it was a wonderful touch of realism to the story.

Your world-building is amazing as well. You really get the sense that this is Japan, and all the little details about different accents and apartments found over stores, and the shinkansen, and the different regions and traditions of Japan. It was lovely to see something so well-researched.

So all in all, "did you ever know that you're my hero" and cue other cheesy love song lyrics. I am now going to scamper off and read any other scrap of Naruto fanfiction you have concocted since. Oh, and this story being almost 40K in word length? Brilliant. I love it when a long story comes together so beautifully as this. I can only ever write short ficlets, so you have my admiration for having such an attention span and the ability to pull it all together so beautifully. You need an award.
