Civilized Monster chapter 6 . 1/15/2017 Years later, and I'm coming back to this fic, reading it with rapt attention to your every word. My absolute favourite portrayal of these characters is in this story. I love rereading this. Just. Ugh. I have no words. Thank you! |
Libraryland chapter 6 . 10/18/2016 Here I am, back again to read this "hot-n-spicy" treat. Just as good as I remembered! With "Ragnarok" pending, here's hoping you find a whole raft of new readers! Cheers! |
Libraryland chapter 6 . 9/17/2014 I completely agree with the previous reviewer who noted that some of the worst, drekiest fiction, that slogs on for 36 or 142 interminably painful chapters, larded with ridiculous exposition, somehow get the most reviews, while crisp, zingy gems like this, don't. Massively unfair. After suffering through a few of the aforementioned fics, I shifted search parameters. My new tactic is to find a writer I like and then read from their list of favorites- much better! It leads me in a few different directions, which is also fine and how is found you. This is a brilliant little piece of work. Sure, I found a few typos, and the exposition gets a little thick in places, but those are minor quibbles. Your characters are perfectly drawn and Loki and Natasha are true to form. This is really fun stuff- Loki, locked in the grip and sway of forces the average mortal deals with in middle-school, and failing dreadfully, as the average 14 year-old doesn't have to rub up against (pun intended) Natasha Romanov all day! Ouch! It's a perfect way to um, expand, his understanding of what it means to be human; the push and rush and drive of life. (In a different plot line, it would be interesting to see Loki realize the control that mortal men develop and his respect for them.) You write Steve and Tony so well, it had to be tempting to pull them in to this farther, but I'm relieved you resisted. I like how tightly focused you keep your story, even as I would enjoy seeing you explore other aspects of this new mortality/humanity for Loki, it would dilute this story. The sparring sequence is brilliantly written, the panic attack, and every kiss and caress are just perfect. And the there's the bloody clever stuff you write: "He is a god. He was a god. Oh god, now she's leaning in." " This is fiendish. This is contemptible. This is ..." " A dress." It certainly was." Thanks for such fun! On to your next! |
TheLaughingMan1 chapter 4 . 7/16/2014 Amazingly well done, each in character and each playing perfectly together. Bravo! |
TheLaughingMan1 chapter 3 . 7/16/2014 I like how you focus on the mental aspect of becoming mortal. It was something the film Thor did not really explore, but I imagine that Thor wasn't one to consider the differences beyond his strength. I imagine that, as he was something of a womanizer as an Asgardian, that he had much more experience with hormones as opposed to Loki who would shut them out at the first sign of inconvenience. |
TheLaughingMan1 chapter 2 . 7/16/2014 Ah, what an amazing story this is! I'm very glad to have found it. |
TheLaughingMan1 chapter 1 . 7/16/2014 This is sensual, but not erotic. Powerful and sublime, yet not predictable or cliche. Why is it that the rare gems of FF . Net have so few reviews, when trash have thousands heaped upon them? 'Tis not fair, but I will do my part in upping the count, if only a little. If you can't tell, I was experimenting in my writing for a more flowing style; the story had to do with both Celtic and Norse mythologies, so my writing had to match the tone. It seems the style is lingering. |
The L. MMonster chapter 6 . 3/30/2014 Loved it, so psychological. |
theFGnat chapter 6 . 3/14/2014 Great story! I absolutely love your style! :D |
stalrua chapter 6 . 2/28/2014 Hands down, this was one of the most fantastic things I've ever read! I tend to prefer a darker, more troubled Loki, so the way you portrayed him was right up my alley. His struggle with mortality and coming to terms with his humanity was excellent, and Natasha's way of helping him was so believable for her character. And as if that wasn't enough, your style of writing was like poetry. It flowed so naturally and was really, very beautiful. I wasn't quite sure what to expect coming into this, but whatever I might have expected, this story exceeded it by far. Instant favorite and definitely something I'll read again in the future. Thank you for an excellent story! |
Fanfic Allergy chapter 6 . 2/5/2014 I admit it, I totally laughed at Loki's mortal limitations. And then I kind of felt bad for laughing. This was cute. Thanks for sharing! |
Dark moon chapter 6 . 10/5/2013 Wow this was such a amazing story thank you for writeing this you made my day lol XD |
Pipergirl17 chapter 6 . 10/4/2013 Loved it. An absolute gem of a story! |
Aurelia Faiza chapter 6 . 10/2/2013 oh god my life to give you some context, i was looking for a bit of blackfrost to send me off to sleep with peaceful dreams of hard fucking and fluff it's half two in the morning, i'm at work in four hours and i'm in bed howling my soul away because i just CANNOT DEAL with these two this story is great. i mean, truly great. complex, in a way that fanfictions rarely are. i hope it's not too presumptuous to say, but it takes a very clever person to write in this way - compelling, intelligent, well-paced, witty - and i'd like to thank you, very much, for writing this. |
MistressOfMalplaquet chapter 6 . 7/25/2013 And - perfect ending. Bravo! |
