Just finished reading everything to date, binged it in a few days. Hot damn this was an interesting read so far! It's pretty unique, well written, and "realistic" in the constraints of the ninja universe. Your explanation of tech being relics from collapsed civilization is something I've never seen before on the site, same with the mask hierarchy in ANBU. Seriously, good job and thanks for the read. My main critique is now that Obito is gone, it feels like you're hitting what I like to call "One Piece Syndrome:" lots of cool character development and overarching schemes beyond the main protagonist, but little in the way of an easily defined end-goal for the reader. Don't rush with it, but work it in over the next few chapters. I get that you're building the story and finding your way through for now, and I'm excited to see what you come up with!

AT this point you have wonder if Dragon -1 isn't also compromised in his own way. Maybe he's like Danzou but without the wish to rule Konoha himself. All that paperwork would make any sane person question the job, surely... Either that or he's just more narrow minded than he's able to see himself.

It's both hilarious and mildly infuriating how much of a fool they all are.

They expect the boy to show blind loyalty to a village he does not know, a village he was never talked about, a village of mercenaries and assassins, which he despises. They expect him to be obedient, a perfect little soldier when he wants to be a sailor, which, in my head at least, is one strong metaphor of freedom.

They expect what, gratefulness? When they lied to him his whole life, mind wiped the one he considers his mother and decided he would be used for something he does not care about?

I wonder who, of Naruto or the rest of the cast, needs to grow up.
