A great end to the story. I liked the tribute to Boromir.

Another great story. I liked the part where Pippin said that the Balrog is probably flapping around in the dark with Gasndalf's old hat.

Ah - it *is* longer! How nice! I do like picturing the Ents listening to hobbit laughter and concluding that it's a "good little sound"!

What a marvelous little vignette! I just wish it were longer...

Just one thing sort of niggles at me - I can't quite imagine a hobbit saying hyperventilate. It dragged me right out of the story for a moment, it seemed so unlikely. "choke" maybe, or "never catch my breath again" or "die. Can you die from laughing? I might be about to find out."

I hope you'll forgive my bit of criticism - your stories are usually so perfectly satisfying, this nags at me like a pebble in my shoe.

Poor Pippin and Merry - they did go on to become famous in the war but at some cost.
