I like this story, it manages to capture a lifetime of meaning into a mear handful of words.

As soul crushingly disappointing as the end of the game was, it's still startling just how robust and inspiring the ME universe is. This story just proves that point.

My feels just went through the roof. I love the thought of Shepard staying in contact, in her own, Reaper Goddess way. And Liara's worry about Azara was just so sweet and natural. Wrex is amazing. I loved this!

I teared up when I read this. It's funny yet sensitive, and even though Liara's worries are mostly played with in a funny teenager-rebelling-against-her-overprotective-moth er way, there's still enough pathos to let the reader feel how sad Liara must be. Even if it's just Wrex mentioning it to Azara, it still hits pretty hard.

Azara is a fun character, spunky and spirited. The moment that struck the most emotion in me is the part where Wrex tells Azara that she must have overwhelmed the Reaper/Shepard. I could almost picture it perfectly in my mind, and it was SUCH a sad image, especially coming right after the wishful thinking holoshopped picture. Poor Shepard...

This is an amazing one-shot. The best ones make me *want* to read more because I want to know what happens next and hopefully get a happy ending or continuation (Shepard finds a way to talk with Liara or Azara? Quiet moments where Azara talks to Reapers to converse with her father?), but at the same time I *dread* a sequel because it would ruin the power of the one-shot. I definitely felt that with this one. Fantastic job.

Amusing. I kinda think that Shep would find a way to be more... There if she really did end up having a kid. Having a special-made body built so she could be there.

This was a really sweet story. I read this on mobile so I didn't notice it was a one-shot until I went to review it now but it definitely tugged on the heartstrings with the fate of Shepard and the hints of her being aware through the Reapers and watching over her daughter. Well done!

Yeah, just consider this: Shepherd IS the Reapers and, possibly, a little bit of every AI in the universe. Anyone who makes Azara cry or, god forbid, actually /injured/ her has wakened a wrath that not even the gods could imagine. However, it also means that every flicker of the lights, every glitch in the terminal and every security camera tracking her means that her father is always there, always loves her and is always looking out for her.

A lovely exploration of the consequences of the 'Control' ending for those Shepherd loved.
