This is lovely. I like the idea of Charlie wanting to stay out of the war and be a pacifist, and it taking Bill being hurt to change his mind. The use of second person makes it very immediate: I like it.

That was UHMAZING. You captured Bill and Charlie perfect. The little bit of dry him out, the comfort between them, the bond they have. Flawless characterization and plot and idea. Fantastic!

the fact that Charlie won’t be home for Christmas hurts. hate the last line because it’s unfortunately true. Bill after The Battle hurts too. he’s eldest and just he shouldn’t go through with any of it.

I love Charlie so much and I love that he doesn't go get his mum right away because he wants to talk to Bill. And I think you wrote their relationship so effortlessly. Like they're best friends even though they're apart all the time and they /get/ each other. I love it, dear. I really do.
