Author has written 12 stories for Slam Dunk. Birthplace : Makati, Philippines Current Location : Ohio, USA Likes : Humble, compassionate and sensitive people. Dislikes : Hypocrites, holier-than-thou, arrogant people. Also people who think they are smart when in reality they aren't. More about me, well, I grew up around boys. Really, truly, that’s because I have 2 brothers, no sis and our neighbor at that time has 9 children, all of them boys so I ended up playing war games with them. Hey, that was fun! But I had to contend with my mom’s paranoia because she thought I was going to be a tomboy. Not to mention the fact that I walked like a goon when I was 13 to 15 years old. She was horrified! Her only daughter? Noooooo! She wanted me to become a beauty queen. Obviously, I did not become one but at least, to her relief, I did not become a tomboy either. Hey, I actually love being a woman, you know. It’s fun being a girl! Years went by, I grew up, went to college and miracle of miracles, I was able to graduate (Accounting major), got a job, got my masters (MBA) while holding a job. MBA was not my first choice, I really wanted to take up law but darned law school (Ateneo) near my work wouldn’t take in working students because they wanted to maintain their high passing rate and the number of bar topnotchers they have. I don’t wanna quit my job because I don’t want to be a burden to my parents and I wanna be financially independent . Then I went to America to uh… work even harder, so much so that I had only one day off after working straight for six weeks. I am paying my car, my home mortgage and utility bills. Yeah, welcome to the real world. I loved anime since I was 10. The first animes I watched were Voltes V, Mazinger Z, Daimos, Astroboy and Cardcaptor Sakura. I also loved Gensomaden Saiyuki, You’re Under Arrest, Lupin III, Cowboy Bebop, Inuyasha, Magic Knight Rayearth, Chobits and Ah! My Goddess, but I love SLAM DUNK most of all! I have been a Slam Dunk fan for almost five years now. I am a newbie when it comes to fanfic writing. I love writing even though I am not really good at it. Thanks for bearing with me. My stories are not a testament of a good writer. I already know that. Tell me something that I don’t know. My stories are not just plain stories. They are sort of ‘political statements’ of what I feel regarding the fandom, the characters and the anime itself. They are subtle but they are there. If I made you cringe, then I have conveyed my ‘statement.’ My stories are the proof of my love for the anime. I write for the anime because I love it, not because I want to please or impress people. This means I cannot stop writing just because my English is bad and that I should wallow in self-pity just because of that. Flames that are not constructive, meaning flaming just for the sake of flaming will be ignored. A good reviewer will tell me my mistakes and will offer alternatives. Otherwise, a reviewer who will not give me alternatives is just flaming my story because there is something in there that he/she doesn’t like which is probably what I was trying to convey. Lastly, writing fanfics is a very small part of my life. I have other hobbies such as astronomy, gardening, reading, cross stitching, camping and traveling. That, and I am proud of the fact that I earn my keep. I RESPECT other authors' pairings (as long as she is not Mary Sue) so I expect that my pairs will be RESPECTED in return. Mary Sue actually amuses me a lot. She's the most popular girl in Slam Dunk, even more popular than Ayako Haruko. Heck, even more popular than Rukawa. Wake up, girl! He is just an anime character. I am not inclined to do a yaoi because: 1.) I cannot imagine those delicious creatures keeping themselves to each other. They have to share themselves to the hungry female population! Ergo, if I cannot imagine it, I can't bring myself to write it. -( 2.) I have read enough yaoi to last me till eternity. I am even guessing that Slam Dunk Fanfic.net contains 70-80 yaoi. 3.) There are already a lot of yaoi fanfic writers so I guess I cannot compete heheh... Ok, I admit I like Haruko simply because I don't have any reason to hate her. That's the reason why you'll notice that my fics are usually based on Rukawa Haruko. Not a very popular pair but I love it anyway. Rani is the only major female OC I have created. She appeared in Madness. Madness is a romantic-sex comedy. 01-03-05 |
