Pope Benedict the XVI gave an emotional farewell today in Vatican City in his last general audience. The Pope said ``I took this step in full awareness of its gravity and rarity but also with profound serenity of spirit.'' Amy Kellogg reports.

Another person has died in severe weather impacting a big chunk of the country. One person died after heavy snow collapsed a roof in Oklahoma. There are many roofs caving in under the heavy weight of relentless snow. Another is dead in one of the many car accidents being blamed on severe weather. Parts of Texas saw hurricane strength winds, heavy snow and power outages. Oklahoma and Kansas also being smashed. 15 inches of snow forecast for parts of Missouri. An explosion at a restaurant in Kansas City has left at least 14 injured. Crews worked overnight putting out fires and searching the rubble for bodies. Mike Tobin reports.

Sad story from the world of country music. Mindy McCready apparently killed herself with a single gunshot to the head. It happened on the same porch where the father of her nine-month-old son killed himself just over a month ago. McCready has another son who is six-years-old. She had a history of run-ins with the law and had fought numerous battles against drugs and alcohol.

Hundreds of people have been injured by what's believed to be a meteorite crashing to earth in Russia today. Windows were blown out and broken glass is everywhere in Central Russia.
