Well, the Xbox is cheaper, but the PS3 is more powerfull.

Xbox Live is better than PLAYSTATION Network, but Live is about 50 dollars a year. PSN is free.

Last, but most important it is the games that makes the console, so you'll have to decide wich games you want the most.
