I guess it's fine if other people like shooters, they just aren't for me, and I hate how they're flooding the market now.
What do you expect? The 360 is nothing more than the PCs little brother

Yeah, PS3 doesn't even get the PC titles and has less/inferior exclusives... whatever arguments have been used to diss the 360 this year is just more doubly true for the PS3. 360 has more and better shooters but its also true of them this year for every category over the PS3. PS3 is also mostly shooters... and uncharted is a shooter lol... why would it be more of a third person action game than say, gears of war, mass effect or tomb raider...Top PS3 games, uncharted(TPS), Ratchet(TPS), Resistance(FPS), Warhawk(TPS)...

So it's the exact same list as game of the year? I wonder if one game will get game of the year but not 360 game of the year. The Orange Box is probably better on the PC so it might actually happen...

Bioshock is a GORGEOUS game.. I can't really say that I would or wouldnt choose it for the Game of the year award since I have only played the demo. However the story seems immersive and the detail of the surroundings is amazing.
Halo is a a wonderful ending to the trilogy. I loved the campaign and the interaction built between the npcs. The multiplayer aspect of it was great as well however I did grow tired of it. The movies and forge are a very welcomed addition to the genre on the console where as before it has been lacking. One thing I didn't like was the accuracy of the weapons. When shooting down the sites to shooting from the hip to shooting while walking there is hardly a difference in accuracy if any at all. The graphics we're sort of a let down running less than 720p even. Its a solid shooter however but as for game play nothing new.
The orange box is sort of the same with the halo. Yes it was a nice continuation of the story and TF2 was a fun and interesting addition. Portal was a twist that has never been done. However all were built on an aging engine and nothing really new to any of them except portal. All of them were very limited in length and if you were a pc gamer you most likely completed the HL2 games far before it was released for the console.
Mass effect I would have to give the award to. To me the story was amazing. It was so deep and it allowed the interaction with the npc's (your decisions) transform the story.Freedom to be a rebel or a protector of the innocent or anywhere in between, this game had it all. I loved the fact that it wasn't the average shooter. It integrated aspects from story telling RPGs and the FPS. Most of it was pretty straight forward so no real puzzles to figure out however the story kept you wanting to play just another quest to see what happens. I won't say too much since this is a newer game and ruining the story could ruin the game for others. Yes the game has its problems with loading textures but its worth it. Graphically its gorgeous. The story is robust and the fps aspect keeps you on your heels. The fact that you can play it multiple times and the story will be different depending on your actions gives it some replayability.
Anyways those are my take on the choices given. I'd say Mass Effect overall since it was something new yet beautiful to play.

so sad all of the sony flamers on here commenting about how the 360 only plays host to shooters. the fact of the matter is that most development companies have come to realize that generally fps titles manage to sell better than "experimental" titles like little big planet. that's not to say that a developer couldn't release an imaginitive title that doesn't fall with in the fps category and be succesful in the gaming industry - it's just more difficult to do so. i'm a huge fan of all kinds of games and quite frankly i can't think of any games that i've played aside from the ones on this list that managed to impress or entertain me nearly as much. btw, i don't think that "mass effect" can really be considered a "shooter". that's like saying that all of the games in the final fantasy universe are fighting games with slight role playing elements.
