Hmm... Response of an average H3 player??? Then it must have a "awesome" community... And to answer your question: to your "3 years timeline" fits even old CoD2, which is still in first 3 of most played FPS :D. There are still more then 100k ACTIVE players, who log in every day and that are only users, who have X-fire.
P.S. WAKE UP PEOPLE, who thinks, that forge is original idea in H3!!! In UT it was even in 2004 maybe even in 2003.

Halo 3 is a good online game, but nothing great. It gets repetitive pretty fast, but for a game to pick up and play for an hour it's pretty fun. I'd have given my vote to Unreal Tournament 3 or Call of Duty 4 however.
