Huber, the game seems similar to Hotline Miami [2] in it's approach, just on a side-scrolling view and a cover mechanic similar to Gunpoint. Thanks for a great review, as always!
kind of looks like a free online game I'd play for about 30 minutes nice idea and a cool style but the actual gameplay seems a bit shallow and repetitive
Most recent videos on GT are currently not downloadable. The message "Sorry, there was an error retrieving a downloadable version of this video." keeps rearing its ugly head once again. :(
Your scores are so arbitrary and never match the tone of the review to the point that I wonder if you are all trolling the internet to not care about review scores.
I would easily recommend this game to a friend. I liked it a ton but as an objective reviewer tasked with scoring all aspects of it, 7.8 felt right. It would have been 8 or higher if the environments or gameplay were not so repetitive after only a few hours.
Criticisms including slightly imprecise controls, the playable characters not being particularly balanced for creative play, including a bias in later levels to shotguns, repetitive level design making the late game somewhat unremarkable and dull level design.
Whether that drops a game down from 10 by 2.2 points or 1.3 points or 4.7 points is largely dependent on just how much a person might feel these negative aspects bring down the fun in playing it, or detract from the momentum to feel more fond toward the game. Additionally, it also depends on how much the reviewer liked the core of the positive aspects. It's possible if the game's humor, pixel graphics or basic action premise really dunked Huber's spunk meter, it would be higher as well.
Therefore, it is not arbitrary, because it's based on stated facts and the taste of the reviewer, which is what every review is. Opinions that differ from yours do not become arbitrary simply because you disagree with them. Taste is often set, defined and well understood by the individual in question and seldom arbitrary.
I'm not sure what specific diagnosis of butthurt is giving you anal pains, but I'm going to guess it's more arbitrary and ridiculous than this review. Is it because The Wind Waker HD also got a 7.8 from a different reviewer and while it's impossible to state for an fact it's a better game, most likely it's going to be remembered, replayed and more well-liked than Not a Hero will ever be? Is it that indie games with less than AAA aesthetics tend to have a harder time getting higher scores in the wider game press? Because that's not the case here with GT giving high scores to Pillars of Eternity, Wasteland 2, The Talos Principle and Shovel Knight. Or are you just not very intelligent?

Gunpoint didn't have cover mechanics. You could climb on the walls and ceiling instead.
one of the characters looks like rosie odonnell

Fricken awesome. Sound design is outstanding. Whole thing is a very welcome blast from the past.
Added this to my wishlist on steam..

And I only watch GT while offline.
I hear music from Big Giant Circles. Nice!

Are the environments Ferguson? Baltimore? would play
Any word if this game will come to PS4 or Vita?
Given the studio has had games out on both, I wouldn't be surprised. This looks like a future PS+ game to me.
You can't see me, but I'm slow-clapping your reply right now.
