Watch Beck's Heroic New Music Video For 'Up All Night'

His new album 'Colors' has a release date

Beck knows his fans have been waiting for a very long time for this moment, the imminent release of his upcoming album Colors! His previous album, the critically acclaimed Morning Phase, was released in February 2014 and went on to win three Grammy Awards (Album of the Year, Best Engineered Album, Non-Classical and Best Rock Album). The first single of Colors, "Dreams" was released over two years ago, all the way back in June 2015. It was followed by "Wow" in June 2016. Beck felt bad enough himself about how long it has taken him to finally release Colors and posted a thank you message to his fans on Instagram: "Hello everyone. My new album Colors is coming out in October on Friday the 13th. Have been working on this one for a while. To all who have been waiting for it, thank you for your patience. Looking forward to playing these songs for you this next year! More soon."

Since it's Beck's 13th album, choosing Friday the 13th as the release date couldn't have been more perfect! He explained the reason why it took him so long to RollingStone: "I suppose the record could have come out a year or two ago. But these are complex songs all trying to do two or three things at once. It's not retro and not modern. To get everything to sit together so it doesn't sound like a huge mess was quite an undertaking."
