Wow, I was really looking forward to Rock Band. It seemed like such an awesome idea, construct a whole band. I also have a roommate, so the prospect of buying the instruments seemed surmountable. However, I never planned on buying it all at once.

realize the wording on this can be confusing so allow me to clarify just to be sure it's understood. Rock Band will always be available as a bundle. However until 2008 it will only be available as a bundle.

The Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 bundles will cost $169.99, and have an official release date of November 23rd. Each version will ship with the game, a microphone, a drum kit and a guitar; while the Xbox 360 guitar will be wired, the PlayStation 3 guitar will be wireless.

In the latest OXM Podcast, Harmonix CEO Alex Rigopulos confirms that the Xbox 360 guitars for Rock Band are wired in the bundles. There will be wired and wireless versions available for the Xbox 360, but once again, the retail bundles will come with a wired guitar.
