UCLA Knocks Oregon Out of Rose Bowl

Down to a pair of redshirt freshmen to play quarterback, the once-mighty Oregon Ducks had absolutely no chance against UCLA. And with that, their hopes of returning to Pasadena to play in the Rose Bowl game on New Year's Day came to an end.

Malik Hairston scored 24 points and the 11th-ranked Oregon Ducks beat the Portland Pilots 85-61 on Saturday night.

18th-Ranked Ore. Nips No. 15 Okla. 34-33

In a wild final 72 seconds, Dennis Dixon and the Oregon Ducks had everything go their way. Dixon rallied for two late touchdowns, with the help of a successful onside kick, and the No. 18 Ducks blocked a field goal on the final play to seal a 34-33 victory over No. 15 Oklahoma on Saturday.

Nice steam of consciousness about the BCS screwing the Ducks for the second time in 5 years and screwing the Pac-10 for the second straight year. I love the AP article, full of self-congratulatory BS about how "great" the matchups will be this year. I mean, Michigan State - Purdue would be a great matchup, but it wouldn't match the best teams.
