Please tell me oh learned ones - why does the government need to nationalize the banks to fix them? What will actually occur if this were to happen? Do the toxic assets magically disappear - while career politicans perform turn-around miracles? The idea of having our banking system in the hands of politicans should scare the American public. The possibility for earmarks and power grabbing makes me think of Ceasar's Rome.
Hearing that Alan Greenspan endorsed the idea makes it even more undesirable. Mr. Greenspan is a very intelligent individual - however - he had his turn as a Central Banker - and the results from his reign have turned out less than desirable.
