Obviously you were up at that hour to see everyone online...However, I think there is a bug on the online indication...Perhaps if one just closes the site rather than clicking LOGOUT they still appear to be online...There are just too many that appear to be online right now???? Best, Doug

X-Man...I'm Intermediate term Bearish...But I don't see going down to 10,000...However, I follow the Naz Comp and NDX more closely...My Crystal Ball says the Naz will not go below 2150 this year...Actually 2156 to be exact...But the market is never exact...Best, Doug

X-MAN: Oh My...What a story!!!...I had not heard of this fiasco...I spent 5 mins looking at all this...Whoa!!! I have absolutely no idea what will happen here...Could go either way I guess...Too much for me except for maybe a 5 min trade. Technicals are meaningless on this one right now...news is the key here...One thing is reasonably certain...It will make a BIG MOVE in the next 2 months...But I have NO IDEA which way...Whew!!!

This is my first post here and you probably don't know that I was bullish fertilizers and shipping. I see that my trades in shipping and fertilizers was ill timed. I'm exiting those trades. I also see that the dollar is bullish as is the Yen. I don't trade futures so my picks today are FXY and UUP.

By the way, I was named Sir Kevin at birth. It comes from my Grandfather who was accidentally named Sir Clifton at birth when his parents didn't have a name for a boy. The doctor (doctors made house calls in the late 1800s) put Sir on the birth certificate and expected the hospital to remove it when grandfathers parents took him to the hospital for an evaluation. Well, the name wasn't removed, and my mother liked Kevin better than Clifton, thus, Sir Kevin is my name.

Well...I guarantee I can call the bottom...Problem is that I won't be able to do it for about a month after it happens. I have tried to post charts and descriptions of how I normally trade...But the problem is those posts and the off site links I post to many of my charts are all over the place and probably hard to track down...Thing is I also post stuff for other forums...Thinking I might just put everything on one website page one day then add to the same page as I go...That way when anyone asks I can just post a link...Thx, Doug

I do have slope set on my stockcharts I use it as a secondary indicator usually set to 10. Unfortunately one cannot scan for it at stockcharts. At stockfetcher you can run scans on slopes of various indicators...Thanks, Doug

Doug - Do you know of any stats that gives clues to the market in a day. For example, if the first hour is up, what % of the time will it close up or be up at 3pm. Plus, what does the trading from 3 to 4pm tell you? Thankx

I think the most important time of the day is 3;20pm when the Big Guns may tip their hat. I don't really have the answer for you at the beginning but generally I would say you will see a reversal of the opening trend at about 9:50ish...Watch for 10 to 15 mins to see if the pullback comes back and takes out the trend hi(or lo) for an indication. Look at my site on the useful Links pake and click the following: Reversal period trading on 3//3/07 and trading The 10 O'Clock bulls on 2/25/07...You may find them interesting...Best, Doug

Question on buy and sell orders - July 8, 2009
Why can't we see the current list of buy and sell orders and at what price on any particular stock? We only get the last top order price on a stock? Seems this is unfair to a new investor on scottrade..... If there is a lot of sell orders on a stock it could indicate that the stock price is probably going to go down. If there is a lot of buy orders on a stock it could indicate that the stock price is probably going to go up. Any comment?
