La plage de la Trousse-chemise is located in the town of Portes-en-Ré, on the western tip of the island.

Seeing that the beach is on the edge of the forest, it’s ideal for a family outing. Picnic beneath the pines before diving into the sea. A large sand bank known as the Banc du Bucheron (woodcutter’s bench) makes for a fun walk with the kids and is a good spot for observing the magnificent marine life.

La plage des Gremettes is found at Sainte-Marie-de-Ré. It’s perfect for athletes and surfers.
La plage de la Conche
La plage de la Conche is the island’s largest beach, stretching 3 km along the ocean. You get an impressive clear view from one end to the other. It stretches from the “Baleines au Petit Bec” lighthouse. Free of landscaping, you’ll find nothing but clear water, waves, dunes and the Lizay forest, thanks to a cycle path that takes you there.

La plage des Gros Joncs is a safe, family-friendly beach, with a sailing club where you can enjoy windsurfing, surfing, kayaking, catamaran and a chance to learn how to paddle. There’s a kids' club nearby.
