This tutorial shows how to install Joomla engine to the GoDaddy hosting server using automatic application install option.
First of all you need to log into your GoDaddy hosting account and access hosting control panel. In the right column you can see the block Applications. Click Joomla link to begin installation procedure.
At the appeared screen click Install Now button to begin.
Step 1. Select Plan
Here you need to select the domain name that you want instal Joomla engine to or purchase additional hosting plan.
Click Next button to proceed.
Step 2. Set up new hosting
This step is available only in case you ordered new hosting plan for Joomla. You need to configure your new hosting account.
Step 3. Set up App
At the setup application step you need to define database details for your Joomla installation. Input database description and password.
Click Next button to proceed.
Then you need to define the Joomla engine installation directory. It is the folder that will contain Joomla engine files.
Please note that the path to the installation directory will affect your website address.
If the path to the installation directory will be http://your_domain_name/joomla/my_joomla your website address will be http://your_domain_name/joomla/my_joomla
Then in the configuration area you need to create Joomla website administrator account. Input administrator login, password and email.
Keep these details in safe place as you’ll need them to access your Joomla website administration panel
You can also see the Install Sample content checkbox. We recommend you to disable it as the template comes with it’s specific sample content and you’ll be able to instal it after the template installation
When you are done click Next button in the bottom right corner.
At the last step you can click My Application link to see the status of your installation.
