This tutorial will show you how to replace the logo image in transactional e-mails of your Magento store.

To replace the e-mail logo, upload the new image into the /images/ directory of your theme:

skin\frontend\default\YOURTHEME\images.

Entitle your image as ‘logo_email.gif’ and overwrite the existing logo image. Do not forget to clear your Magento cache.

Also, and very importantly, to ensure that the new image will show up in the transactional emails, the permissions need to be changed so that it includes read and write permissions.
