He's a 'Problem for the Whole Country': CA Gov. Swipes at Pence Over Border Comment

The panel on "The Five" reacted to recent statements by House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) that she will remain the caucus' leader and that Democrats will retake the House of Representatives in November.

"We will win. I will run for Speaker. I feel confident about it," Pelosi, 78, said.

Greg Gutfeld said Pelosi's statements and the portion of support she is receiving shows "there's absolutely no new thinking in the Democratic Party."

Dana Perino said Pelosi made her May 1 remarks in the vicinity of Rep. Seth Moulton's (D-Mass.) district. Moulton, she said, has been critical of Pelosi's bid to be party leader.

Jesse Watters said Pelosi is the "queen of the swamp" and that she is "toxic nationally."

"The ghosts of failures past still haunt their party," Gutfeld said, adding that party chairman Tom Perez has also been recently criticized for his statements.

Pelosi has served in Congress representing San Francisco since 1987, and was previously politically active in her home state of Maryland, where her father, Thomas D'Alesandro Jr., served as mayor of Baltimore.
