Sean Hannity reacted to President Trump naming District of Columbia Court of Appeals Judge Brett Kavanaugh to fill an impending vacancy on the Supreme Court, in his Opening Monologue.

Hannity called the nomination the second most important call a president can make besides going to war.

In reaction to the fact Trump chose Kavanaugh from a preordained list, Hannity called him the "most transparent president in history."

However, Hannity warned that the left is already "conducting a malicious campaign to impugn the character of good people."

Before a judge was even named, Pennsylvania Democratic Sen. Bob Casey Jr. announced he would vote against whoever Trump chose.

In a statement released after the White House ceremony, DNC Chair Tom Perez said Kavanaugh should "not be allowed anywhere near" the Supreme Court. 

NBC News host Andrea Mitchell echoed Casey's remarks, saying that people from Trump's list were all the product of "outsourcing at least the initial selection process" to special interest groups.

Reacting last week to an MSNBC guest saying Trump would choose someone he was "comfortable with," former Rep. Joe Scarborough (R-Fla.) said it meant the person likely would be a "white man."

Hannity said the outcry over the choice was predictable, playing tape of a fiery rhetorical speech by Sen. Edward Kennedy (D-Mass.) in 1987, in which the lawmaker ripped President Reagan's choice of Robert Bork.

Kennedy, along with other Democrats and a few Republicans like Sen. Arlen Specter of Pennsylvania, successfully torpedoed Bork's nomination, which Hannity said resulted in "Bork" becoming a verb.

Hannity said he predicts an "all-out effort to Bork Judge Kavanaugh" in the coming days.
