Kenyan sues over stress from wives' sex boycott

A Kenyan man has sued activists who urged women to deny their partners sex for a week as a protest against the country's political impasse.

James Kimondo told reporters outside the Nairobi High Court his wife had observed the boycott and caused him "anxiety and sleepless nights".

Who's leading the conversation?
This visualization below allows you to see the impact that each user has on the current conversation. The top row contains the group of users who have had the most impact, the 2nd row the group of users who have had the 2nd most impact (et cetera). Users with similar impact are grouped together, and the average score of the group is shown to the left of the group. The author of the article is also shown on the left, in their corresponding group. Each user's score is based on the number of comments the user has made plus the number of votes their comments have received. The scores are calculated relative one another, so while their absolute value is not particularly important, their relative difference does indicate a larger difference in impact on the conversation.

He is seeking undisclosed "general damages" from the organisers of the boycott, on the grounds that it "interfered with his happy marriage", the Kenyan broadcaster KBC reports.

Wow! He seems to believe he has an inalienable right to have sex with his wife, against her wishes?! ACLU and NOW, where are you?

Very good point re silence of ACLU. Of course, Kenya is in Africa, but given the African roots of black Americans, they should at least say something. Am i right?

The thing is, if some haven't yet noticed, civil rights does not seem to really include women's right--at least from most men's viewpoint.

I'm just wondering, does "race" have to do with either sexual control or sexual energy? Or culture perhaps? I'm not talking about views on the rights of women to reject advances but simply the level of control or prioritization of the sexual act over other activities.

not sure about race but I do know age is a factor.

I'm sure culture plays a large factor. {erhaps the largest.

Patriarch demands that men control and define women's sexuality. If that is his belief, her refusal might feel to him like she's usurped his control.

If he is part of a culture that believes women define and control their own sexualty, he'd feel less threatened by her refusal.

The claims made in the lawsuit seem to indicate he believes he has the right to sex on demand, which is generally a patriarchal concept.

ROTFLOL. Probably the same everywhere. Some of these guys can really tell some whoppers, like if they don't have sex, they'll end up with a terrible disease. This guy may be the first one to put it in court papers though.
