Here's an exellent recent analysis of the situation re; the Kurds and the US withdrawal
The Future of Kurdistan
As the United States works toward a drawdown of combat forces in Iraq by this August, and a withdrawal of all troops by 2011, military commanders and diplomats are scrambling to make sure that the Iraqi government will be ready to take over.
2008 ? your a little late reporting but i guess late is better then never...got-a go, i have a lot of seeding to catch up on.

That's why I clearly stated in the description, above:
seeded as background to the current US withdrawal from Iraq.
If you are unclear as to the meaning of the word "background', I highly recommend you google it! :-)
And its highly relevant re today's events:
background to the current US withdrawal from Iraq.
that's good enough... i've already used it "background to the Current Middle East events"
a little more generic. it should fit a lot of news that was slow getting attention.
The questions :
1] After the U.S. leaves Iraq will the kurds get attacked by Iran ?
2] If 1] happens will the rest of Iraq come to their defense ?
I wonder what they will do. There are Kurds fighting for democracy in Iran-- so Iran might cross the border into Iraq and bomb Kurdish villages on the pretense of going after Iran Kurdish freedom fighters.

That's interesting ; very interesting .

Unfortunately, Turkey's rogue government under Erdogan is getting friendly with Ahmadinejad....and together they are fighting Kurds, bombing their villages and murdering innocent civilians on and near their common borders.

Here is a facinating video-- one of the more unusual things I've seeded on NV!
Training and Activity of the Kurdish Komalah Guerilla Leftist Organization, Fighting the Iranian Regime
Fascinating (among other things, it shows a house near the border-- with a huge picture of Che on the wall!). There are several different groups fighting the Iranian theocraratic regime of course-- but interestingly, this one is Marxist!
as long as the kurdish al queada allies keep launching terrorist attacks & suicide bombers against iran, turkey & iraq, then yes they can expect military intervention.
why are islamic terrorists supported when they come from kurdish lands, but not from anywhere else?
