Solution for error: This code is tell you that the Outgoing Server Requires Authentication needs to be checked.

Solution for error:The port number is incorrectly set to 255. The correct port should be set to port 25 or 26.

Solution for error:These errors are caused by either not using the full email address as username or needing to reset the password on the email account

Solution for error:The domain could be misspelled, could be propagating/unregistered or the email server could be down. The best solution is to use correct domain and spell correctly, and if still not working then use the server's IP instead.

POP3 Error:

Solution for error:The user has Log on using Secure Password Authentication checked. Needs to uncheck Secure Password Authentication.

Solution for error:The incoming port is incorrect. The correct port number should be 110 for POP3 and 143 for IMAP.

Solution for error:The user is using a secure (SSL) connection, but has set a regular incoming port number. The correct port numbers for using SSL should be 993 for IMAP and 995 for POP3.

IMAP Error only

Your specified Root Folder of 'public_html' could neither be found nor created. Please verify that your Root Folder Path is correct, and that your IMAP account is properly configured.

Solution for error:The user tried to set the "Root folder path:", but this should stay blank. Once again, this an error for IMAP only.

This error code is indicative that a local firewall such as Zone Alarm or anti-virus software such as NOD32, Norton Antivirus, or McAfee is blocking outgoing connections to your mail server. Try disabling any of this software and see if this error still persists.

0x800CCC67

This error is mostly attributed to one of a few things: the ISP is blocking port 25, a local firewall or anti-virus program is blocking SMTP communication or the account in Outlook is setup incorrectly.  Please change the SMTP port from 25 to 26, disable any firewalls or anti-virus software.

0x800CCC78

Your sender address must be a full email address not simply a username. Please set up your account in Outlook/Outlook Express to use a full account name such as username@mydomain.com instead of simply 'username'

0x800CCC79

Please make sure that your client is set up to authenticate SMTP before POP as this is what the error code 0x800CCC79 indicates is the problem.

0x800CCC92

Please access your cPanel as the error 0x800CCC92 indicates, there may be a problem with the password for the email account in question or that the email account has become corrupted.

Most Common Error Code Causes and Quick Troubleshooting Solutions

The following are the most common causes to the codes listed in the article above :

1. Your email client is mis-configured
2. Your ISP is blocking access to port 25
3. There is a DNS problem with your ISP
4. There is an error with SMTP on one of our servers

Below you will find the most common solutions to fix the above problems:

1. Shutdown and restart your computer.
2. Complete email address for Email Address & User ID.
3. POP, IMAP, SMTP will be mail.your-domain-name.com.
4. Make sure Outgoing server has selected Requires Authentication.
5. Change the Outgoing Port from 25 to 26. Many ISPs are now blocking port 25 to prevent their clients from spamming.
6. Temporarily turn off all virus and/or firewall software.
7. Try the ISP's outgoing mail server if the problem persists.
