Scott there is an article in the NYT this evening 12/12/07 about the Blackwater training camp. The community where it is located turned it down now we get to see what the courts are going to do about this.

Scott, I consider a great colleague, he's pushed me in my fiction better than anyone I have ever worked with. When I write something I'm always thinking, "damn, I hope Scott likes it!" I agree with the consensus that even though I usually don't have time to read all 100+ entries he'll have in a day I know that they're all well written and well thought, Newsvine would be, well, myspace without Scott.

What can I say about Scott that hasn't already been said? He was one of my first "friends" here on Newsvine, and I've enjoyed watching his ascent from new user to whatever it is you would call his current status. Newsvine would truly be a poorer place without him, and I hope it never comes to that.

I made the mistake of putting Scott on my watchlist. Don't get me wrong-it was great, but Jeez, I needed my life back. I had 500 articles in my tracker! Scott-one of these days, I'll see you at the FUUC.

Scott=beastly. Every time I get on to Newsvine, your articles/seeds/anything you have ever done ever/comments are always the most active. Also, I'm pretty sure your words to me were pretty much the funniest thing ever. Let me share them with anyone who would like to see them. And I quote,

I am in awe of Scott's prodigious output of articles and seeds. And he is also so unselfish in his feedback to others. I sometimes think no one would read my stuff if they weren't brought there by Scott's first comment on them. I've also never seen him say a harsh word about anyone else, which I can't claim, alas. I met "Scoop" Scott Butki several years ago while he was still in journalism. I have found him to be the most thought provoking and encouraging writing buddy anyone could hope for.
I am too new to fathom the honor bestowed on him but I've no doubt he deserves it.

If Scott has a family they must miss him. Either that or he's managed to get an 802.11n antenna implanted into his brain stem.

Scott writes... well... all the time. It's really quite astonishing. Movie reviews, fiction, meta pieces, discussions -- really the whole gamut. Scott pushes and challenges the boundaries of what Newsvine is... and we're all a little better for it.

So raise a glass to Scott "Scoop" Butki - the fastest keyboard 'round these parts and enjoy one of Newsvine's most beloved characters.

Scott is one of my evil twins. We take turns being the "good" one. His prolificness (yes, that's a word--because I said so) is stunning, but he is often working hard to push others to write more.

A great addition to the Vine, even if he does shame us all with his output.

2 things are for sure about Mr. Butki.
1. He is an amazing writer, with the ability to easily think up ideas at probably the drop of a hat.
2. Sure, he may flood the playing field a little, but this is a good thing if #1 is taken into account.

Just wanted to convey my congratulations on getting your Lifetime Achievement Vine. I think you will soon move to a Five-viner anyway. We arrived on the scene about the same time although there's no way that I would even attempt to emulate your rate of quality or productivity.

Newsvine is a great place to be, and your presence there is a major factor of that in my view.
