excerpt:"Looks as though late-night hosts Jimmy Kimmel, Craig Ferguson and David Letterman are going to join Jay Leno and Conan O'Brien in returning to TV on Jan. 2.
The deal, which would allow David Letterman's show to return in January, could be the first break in a strike.
I have written in Epiphany Sorbet's seed about House, and my seed about the show, about how much I've been enjoying House MD. The writing and acting is excellent.

Die Hard as an xmas movie? I guess that makes sense. And Ordinary People? Wow. Don't drink while watching that one
So a funny thing happened. I've suggested, as I sometimes do, that we take turns writing a story. Only this time - unlike most times - it took off. I mean, REALLY took off. So... chapter 1 unedited is here - this is where it all began

Rudolph W. Giuliani's claim to have turned around the Manhattan United States attorney's office is an insult to the outstanding men and women who have served in that office over the last 50 years.

Scott there is an article in the NYT this evening 12/12/07 about the Blackwater training camp. The community where it is located turned it down now we get to see what the courts are going to do about this.
Scott, I consider a great colleague, he's pushed me in my fiction better than anyone I have ever worked with. When I write something I'm always thinking, "damn, I hope Scott likes it!" I agree with the consensus that even though I usually don't have time to read all 100+ entries he'll have in a day I know that they're all well written and well thought, Newsvine would be, well, myspace without Scott.

I am new to this blogging business, but I keep moving around the vine and find that I am enjoying the exchange of views. It does I just wanted to that you for inviting me to be your friend.
I do not believe you are too old to learn and this is a great place to do that.
What can I say about Scott that hasn't already been said? He was one of my first "friends" here on Newsvine, and I've enjoyed watching his ascent from new user to whatever it is you would call his current status. Newsvine would truly be a poorer place without him, and I hope it never comes to that.

i noticed your seed about Madonna "near" choosing a deal with livenation. just seeded article about officially signing 120 million deal with livenation!
I made the mistake of putting Scott on my watchlist. Don't get me wrong-it was great, but Jeez, I needed my life back. I had 500 articles in my tracker! Scott-one of these days, I'll see you at the FUUC.

Always enjoy checking out your column, Scott. I always learn something new; I'm always challenged; I usually laugh. Love your new avatar! It's the one with the ducky!
Consistently inconsistent with your choice of articles and seeds. That's what keeps me coming back to read more. Thanks for making my days more diverse.

I like you Mr Butki, you mix it up, you keep us on our toes... Good read!

I love your style, clever, articulate and varied, you really do have something for everyone here... thank you

Scott is a loveable smarty pants. What would Newsvine be without him?
— aprilbd
Its hard to find people that are as interested in as many off beat subjects as I am. One of us should be worried. Maybe both. You're a damned good read.
Sorry about that, I mean your SIXTH vine!
— NewsNerd
For that last article you deserve your fifth vine! Congratulations!

Scott, Scott, Scott.
I'd say more but somebody has used up the word supply.
Scott is one of those people who is not afraid to stand up and be counted when it matters. Glad to have you on my friends list.
Scott=beastly. Every time I get on to Newsvine, your articles/seeds/anything you have ever done ever/comments are always the most active. Also, I'm pretty sure your words to me were pretty much the funniest thing ever. Let me share them with anyone who would like to see them. And I quote,
I (Scott) like to think of myself as a crack whore for Newsvine
except without the sex or the drugs.— xfs292
I am in awe of Scott's prodigious output of articles and seeds. And he is also so unselfish in his feedback to others. I sometimes think no one would read my stuff if they weren't brought there by Scott's first comment on them. I've also never seen him say a harsh word about anyone else, which I can't claim, alas. Thanks, pal. You are a real engine of this site.
— ZenAid
I am afraid to put Scoop on my watchlist page. His stuff would fill the whole thing up. And it would all be better than mine. If he ever starts writing about science or hot chicks, I quit.
— Cash
I met "Scoop" Scott Butki several years ago while he was still in journalism. I have found him to be the most thought provoking and encouraging writing buddy anyone could hope for.
I am too new to fathom the honor bestowed on him but I've no doubt he deserves it.

If Scott has a family they must miss him. Either that or he's managed to get an 802.11n antenna implanted into his brain stem.
Scott writes... well... all the time. It's really quite astonishing. Movie reviews, fiction, meta pieces, discussions -- really the whole gamut. Scott pushes and challenges the boundaries of what Newsvine is... and we're all a little better for it.
So raise a glass to Scott "Scoop" Butki - the fastest keyboard 'round these parts and enjoy one of Newsvine's most beloved characters.
— Killfile
Scott is one of my evil twins. We take turns being the "good" one. His prolificness (yes, that's a word--because I said so) is stunning, but he is often working hard to push others to write more.
A great addition to the Vine, even if he does shame us all with his output.

Love his stuff. He brings something no one else brings to the 'Vine. Like interviews. Or his terrific fiction.

I like your style boy...quirky and informative.... nice work, keep it up :)
2 things are for sure about Mr. Butki.
1. He is an amazing writer, with the ability to easily think up ideas at probably the drop of a hat.
2. Sure, he may flood the playing field a little, but this is a good thing if #1 is taken into account.

Wow, Scott! I'm impressed, but I expected as much. Now I know why I have trouble keeping up with one of my favorite Viners!
Oh, and I notice you have moved to Five-Viner status, lol. Glad you are here! You brighten my days, even the bad ones.

By the time you read this newsvine will consist solely of Scott Butki's articles.
Seriously, though, check the leaderboard. Scott has been here a bit over a month and is second for total number of articles.... of ALL TIME!
I admire Sbutki's productivity and I like his writing competitions.
— Pasi
Just wanted to convey my congratulations on getting your Lifetime Achievement Vine. I think you will soon move to a Five-viner anyway. We arrived on the scene about the same time although there's no way that I would even attempt to emulate your rate of quality or productivity.
Newsvine is a great place to be, and your presence there is a major factor of that in my view.
Stick around the Vine. The community needs you!
