Beautifully written! I absolutly loved Leiya's descriptions of Riku, but to me, the whole soulmate thing seemed a little fast... If it was me writing, I would have slowly stretched it out, simply to antagonize the readers! (heh... that's exactly why you shouldn't listen to me!)
All in all though, I really enjoyed reading this chapter, and now I feel motivated to write another chapter of my fanfic... once I finish my Research project on Tsar Nicholas II. Oh, and the Essay for History. And those two worksheets for math... yes, I shall stop rambling on, and would like to emphasize the fact that your story is one of "the most exquisitely written" fanfics I have ever read. If you have not already read it, I would like to reccommend "Stygian Solace", unless you are opposed to shounen-ai, of course. I personally don't/can't write shounen-ai, so, my fanfic has none of that... (wait for the next one though... no actually, the plot that's wandering around in my mind would actually do better w/o a shounen-ai pairing...)
Oh, I had said something about stopping my incessant ramblings didn't I? Just in the case of insanity, or loathe directed towards me, I wish to convey my sincerest aplogies. (When I first set out on writing this review, i wanted to end with praise, so i would just like to mention how incredibly magnificent 'Separate Destinies' is!)

This chapter was very good (god dont you hate the same old boring reviews everytime) and as perfectly written as the last.

I find this story... IMMENSELY enjoyable... whatever judgements I made to you before, I withdraw them and applaud you. I wish I hadn't been so weird before... but this is awesome! I hope that you will update soon... Riku is really powerful cool and Sephiroth is almost all better, um... except for the murder of the whole village. Hee. but why do I sort of get the sense of dread right now?
I must point out my favorite line: "I AM NOT HIM, YOU STUPID KITSCHE BASTARD!" And I shall treasure it always.. heh, heh...

Finally get to review something again. YAY!
You know, 5 centuries sure is a long time to have gone by without Sephiroth spilling blood, so you I can definitely appreciate this little part, just because he's so in character:
"Riku’s eyes widened, his jaw dropping open in surprise and fear. The entire crowd of spectators had frozen in horror. The animalistic fury in Sephiroth’s eyes made them blaze almost white, and his sword was poised to strike. Just as the elder turned round…
“Die!” Sephiroth hissed, and his sword came down and cleaved the elder’s skull in half, spraying blood and bits of brain tissue everywhere. Without another word, Sephiroth grabbed the neck of the corpse and threw it into the fire with such force that the wood was scattered, sparks flying everywhere."
I love this part, just to know that riku was getting ready to share his love's fate. I know that look was absolutely murderous! Wow...
I did enjoy getting the close up on the kitschen, but sad to see they weren't really meant to be developed. Would have been vey interesting. I understand what you're trying to do here so I'm not so sad. It's a Riku and father fic!

You must be a very talented fanfic author if you can write chapters like this when you're half asleep. I love this story and hope you update it as soon as you can. And not to be gruesome or anything, I think it's good how you make riku hurt a lto, leaves a lot of room for father-son bonding, even if it is after the father goes psycho. hehheh. well, keep writing, baibai!

This is great! Please don't hook Riku up with anybody! And if you do, please don't make him'her an OC or Mary Sue, etc.! And when are Cloud and Riku's siblings going to come into the picture? Also, five hundred years? Wow, a long time has passed!
