"Got another mission." Hannibal declared, shutting the trap door that led down to their hideout. Their hideout was mainly basements from foreclosed homes linked together. One for Face, one for B.A, one for Hannibal, and one for Murdock, who had been lately smuggled out of the nearest psychiatric ward when a large amount of sleeping gas was released into the ventilation system. Strange occurrence, isn't it? After being equipped with some of the latest technology, with money that was clandestinely obtained of course, the team had seen fit to customize each of their areas. Hannibal's was mainly full of books and a large atlas. Face's held the latest in technology and a few, ahem, cosmetics. B.A's was mainly filled with weights and diagrams of cars. Murdock's, well, none of them had ever been brave enough to see the supposed horrors that lurked in Murdock's room.
"Alright, I have been dyin' to get out of this place and get some action!" Murdock declared, cracking a grin from the couch he currently occupied in the commen area.
"Not sure if 'dying' if the appropriate word here, Murdock." Face said, nipping the packet of papers from Hannibal. He quickly scanned the paper, the burst out laughing. "Phoenix, you're kidding me right? Phoenix in the middle of summer, it's a hellhole there!"
"I don't know, Face. I hear you can get some pretty good sun there, might get your tan back." B.A laughed, wiping his hands on a towel in the kitchen. Face tossed the papers to Murdock, growling about how he had lost some 'color'. Murdock read the packet quickly, it detailed a small rescue job. Some person hadn't paid off a drug lord and was being held captive.
"Any flyin', Hannibal?" He asked, hopeful. The air was the only thing that made him feel better, whether it was a cold Arctic breeze or a fierce, wet monsoon. Being underground, well, it wasn't quite his cup of tea.
"Small cropduster, nothing huge." Hannibal replied with a wave of his hand. "Extraction only Murdock, get us in then get us out."
"No way in hell I'm goin' up with that crazy fool." B.A called from the kitchen.
"Oh Bosco, it's not that far from L.A to Phoenix." Murdock chided, smirking.
"Yeah but it's a scary ass way with you." B.A grunted, coming back out. Murdock bit his tongue, it wasn't as if he wasn't part of the team, he just didn't have a big role to play. Get them in, get them out, merely repeating the same motions but with different aircraft. He sighed and returned to watching the Loony Toons. It had been a long time since he had had any real dogfights. While Face, B.A and Hannibal went to plan, he was left watching cartoons, wondering if it was the monotony of the team getting to him or if Face had slipped a pill in his food as a joke.
Maybe they were right, maybe he was insane.
