![]() Author has written 17 stories for Knight Rider, Super Robot Monkey Team, Medabots, Pokémon, and Halo. Status: Semi-retired Retirement isn't really something that I considered was "for me". Sure, I've been around a lot, and learned a lot as a writer, which is why I joined this site in the first place. After a freak computer accident destroyed all 5 chapters of the book I had been writing at age 13, I gave up on that dream for a while and joined ff to hone my skills as a writer, and I really feel that I've done that. But that's far from the only reason I've seriously considering retirement. All around me, I've slowly watched the writers of my age group, as well as many of the writers that I have grown to admire either retire or simply vanish, and I'm starting to see why, but I think it was what Fastern expressed on her profile page that made me realize that I shared many of the same feelings. For years my own original stories have sat and collected dust and been shoved to the backburner because the stories that I had wanted to write were fanfics. And as I look over my profile now, I see that most of what I've managed to write are short 3 and 5 and 10 chapter things. I also see that for the majority of my career as a fanfic writer, I've been tugged about by ideas and writing styles and plotlines that weren't really mine. Sure I came up with them, but I was in reality simply emulating the styles of either writers I admired, or writers that I worked with. In fact, Cold Reality is the only work on here that I can safely say is 100% mine, and when I first published it, I got a lot of criticism for it, and at the time, it discouraged me from doing my own thing, following my own path and writing in my own style. Instead I strove to try to write things that I thought would make stories that people can actually read, and as I can see by the story stats from AOATS, yeah, I can do that. But I don't feel those kinds of stories, I don't live and breathe them and itch to get to a computer just to write them. Darkfics are the only type of fic that I get like that for, yet even in fanfiction, I'm limited by the constraints of the universe I'm working in. So whatever I write, it'll be dark, it'll be gritty, and it'll be real. They might not be the happy-go-lucky adventure stories that people seem to love, but writing is a reflection of life, at least my writing is, when I'm true to myself. What all this means in terms of my fanfiction, I don't know. The idea of being free from the 'obligations' of fanfiction writing is an alluring prospect. I feel trapped in amy big stories that I try to write, trapped by the universes that I write for themselves, and trapped by the expectation that I have to write a big story or multiple big stories or even a number of stories to be considered "eligible for retirement." I will say however, that AOATS and the Kuwagata will be discontinued. To everyone who loved them, thank you for all of your support, it means the world to me, but I must end these stories because I simply can't write them. They aren't me, and trying to write them is like traversing through mud. I will write The Darker Side, Argent, and any other fics pertianing to my SRMTHG OC Sal (not to be confused with AOATS's Sal, the two are vastly different characters) and possibly The Sentinels, if I come up with more than just an idea for that one. If I do decide to retire, I'll end where I began - with SRMTHG, and with Sal's story. If I decide to continue on after that, I make you no promises as to what I write, or when. Name: Kosaten. Other people may know me by other names for various reasons. Gender: Smack dab between male and female. In other words, I'm androgynous. As far as biology and my family is concerned though, I'm female. As far as pronouns go, I prefer ze/zir, but will answer to female pronouns out of habit, and for the comfort of others, since it can be a hard thing to deal with. Other Things About Me: I'm a former Christian bible nerd, and I'm an agnostic atheist (basically I don't believe in an actual supreme deity, but I'm not totally discounting it, as I also believe in astral beings, long story). I really agree with Bhuddism on a lot of points, so I guess that influences my spiritual beliefs as well. I'm also a totemist who does energy work with stones, and a cat therian. I'm also a furry, which for clarification's sake I'll say means that I like anthropomorphic animals/beings. If you like my stuff, cool, if not , don't be a hater. Flames will be used to roast extra crispy marshmallows. Planned fics: The Darker Side (SRMTHG, pre-season) Planned length: 30 Chapters Summary: OC-Centric. When Mandarin betrayed the Hyperforce, Shuggaxoom was plunged into an internal conflict while Skeleton King fought to conquer them in their moment of weakness. When a young woman is entangled in the midst of it all, and manipulated by forces she doesn't understand, how will her involvement impact the events unfolding around her? Argent (SRMTHG, Post-Series, Wartime) Planned Length: 30 Chapters Summary: Sequel to The Darker Side. The tide of the war is rapidly turning in the enemy's favor, and when Chiro goes to the Hidden Fortress, desperate for a weapon to save them, he finds one, along with a secret that the team had tried to forget. A Weapon's Place (SRMTHG, either oneshot or ficlet) Planned Length: 1-5 Chapters Summary: When the war is over, what does one do with a weapon? Should it be locked away, or displayed for all to see? If the weapon was just an object, Chiro would have no problem with it. But this... this was more than that. The Sentinels (SRMTHG) Planned Length: ??? Summary: Based on a series of dreams I've been having recently. Tired and near-insanity, the Hyperforce tries to keep both their society and team from falling apart as the remains of the Skeleton King's ranks wreak havoc on the city, and crime runs rampant. In desperation, Antauri turns to a being he had been communicating astrally with since zir youth, and bring her and her companions to Shuggazoom. As a prophecy fortelling the return of a foe long forgotten unfolds, and a tratior seeks redemption, the Sentinels are caught in the middle to trying to save a city that doesn't want their help.
