The Martian: 3/5 Not a bad film, just a little too long. For me there's nothing really special about it to be honest. If I was a science guy maybe I'd like it a bit more?

Bridge of Spies: 5/5 Best movie I've seen all year thus far, phenomenal. Spielberg has some fucking way of completely transporting me into the era his films are based, and if there's one really great thing Spielberg does it's the 1930s/40s/50s. That opening scene was terrific.

Knock Knock - it was so bad it hurts, 2/10.

While We're Young

Never been a big Baumbach guy, and this didn't really change my mind. It's surprisingly broad. Most of the story is played for awkward laughs---little about filmmaking or millennials really has much substance. As for middle-aged malaise, maybe there's something there? I wouldn't know, I'm young, but it isn't exactly a rare subject in personal films these days. Most of what this film does I've seen much better. Go for some Hong Sang-Soo instead.

Los

I really like Benning, but this one just did not work for me. It's the second in a trilogy (following his very good El Valley Centro) that documents different parts of California. It's shot in his usual style: observational, long static takes without plot, this time focused on a city (Los Angeles of course) which is imagined as a sort of stream of machines and people. The transfixing rhythms from his best work just aren't here; Los Angeles is shot in a pretty pedestrian, scattershot way which doesn't unveil much about the city. Hopefully Sogobi is better.

Bridge of Spies

Another strong work from Spielberg that works as a sort sister picture to Lincoln, both being portraits of lawyers defying established systems in order to uphold their own integrity and humanitarianism. Both are also shot in scope, using a lot of blue hues and back and side lighting, but this one's definitely more self-conscious. It's riffing a lot on 50's cinema, using wides for conversational scenes, and reframings through elegant steadicam and dolly movements, but always coming at things from unconventional elevations. Anyways I dug it! It moves nicely, it's infectiously earnest, and Mark Rylance gives one of the better performances I've seen this year.

Outrage - Not a bad movie, I'd say a 7/10 or so. It had its moments, but it also was annoying at times.

Creed- Similar to the first Rocky movie and overall quite enjoyable. I say at least a 8.5/10 for me personally and well worth watching for Rocky fans.

Hogan's Heroes- Watched a number of episodes after realizing a joke that some buddies of mine have been saying actually referred to a real TV series. And my God I really do enjoy the World War 2 POW camp setting and the cleverness/humor of the entire cast. Definitely going to buy the complete series at some point to own.

The last movie I watched was Mockingjay Part 2.

watched Freaks and Geeks, 9.5/10 funny, relatable, too bad it did not get a second season.

I recently started watching american horror story.
While I did enjoy the first season I thought it was a bit lacklustre.
But the second season, that madhouse.Wow.I'm impressed.
It's so good.
I hope season 3,4 and 5 are good as the second one.

Second season is absolutely the best, 3rd one is pretty good, 4th is very average, 5th is ok (haven't finished it yet). Overall they are all worth watching.

Ash vs Evil Dead season 1 - just great, Ash is back, can't wait for season 2, 9/10.

The Hateful Eight - amazing, loved every minute, 9.5/10.

The Revenant - awesome performance of Leo DiCaprio and bear, 8/10.
