Looks so similar to Trix-x on the 290(x)

Also, interesting (don't know if this was posted yet)

AMD Radeon 300 graphics cards roundup

This is interesting.

I wouldn't be dumb enaugh to buy a 2 year old card. [I mean 390x]

While 8 GB is nice, you need 2 for crossfire or othewise that 8GB vram is totally pointless, as it wont have juice to drive 4K alone at decent framerates. But if you're getting only one card then you're way better getting 290x for close to half price and still have SAME performance.

The only interesting card is Fury with its HBM1, but only 4GB of it. We need to see how it compares to 980ti at high resolutions, before deciding.

Oh and in case if you're wondering why AMDisappoint is because Nvidia released 5 brand new cards 960, 970, 980, 980ti. TitanX without any answer from amd. Even lowest-end tiny 128-bit gtx960 gpu is twice as powerfull as PS4.

Fury $550 June 24!

Need benchmarks now /

Where are you guys getting this information

http://videocardz.com/56561/amd-unveils-radeon-r9-fury-series

AMD Radeon R9 Fury X (649 USD) June 24th
AMD Radeon R9 Fury (549 USD) July 14th
AMD Radeon R9 Nano (Summer 2015)
Dual-Fiji Radeon R9 Fury (Autumn 2015)

AMD Radeon R9 Fury X will be available on June 24th, while and Radeon R9 Fury will be July 14th. AMD priced these cards very aggressively at 649/549 USD respectively. But AMD is looking forward to launching even more Fiji-based cards: AMD Radeon R9 Nano the smallest enthusiast graphics card ever made (6-inch card), and dual-Fiji (name was unspecified, but they did show ultra-small PC computer called Quantum with dual-Fiji).

Radeon Fury X has 4096 Cores which allow 8.6 single precision computing performance.

AMD has not confirmed 4GB HBM1 limit on Radeon R9 Fury X.

Oh common all month till Fury..

well I guess we'll have plenty of benchmarks till then. Better be better than 980ti.

Enough time to make decsions on what to get. I forsee limited stock

AMD Radeon R9 Fury (550 USD) AWESOME! I'm so buying this! Prices are perfect!

Fury = 980ti, but $100 cheaper

550 for Fury sounds reasonable, will be interesting to see how limited the stock is.

I see the Fury X faster than both 980ti and TitanX in both QHD and UHD. And i bet its gonna be faster with newer updates (same thing happend to 290x). I have a FHD monitor and will upgrade to QHD. So its good.

Also the 390x is as fast as the gtx980 and cost $150 less. Turns out the boosted 8gb rebranded 290x is great idea. Now most people can buy a midhigh end card for $350.

so excited!!

Curious, since the cooler cools the HBM and GPU, what cools the vrms? Are there still vrms?

SayanSquirrel:

390x is also doing well against none-TI 980, the additional clock speeds on core and vram must be helping a lot, and the other half of it would have to be DX12 boost since they said the Hawaii chips weren't optimized for DX11. That's why they probably call it enhanced "R9 290x".

AMD's E3 Press Conference.

Hehe dude where have you been. Ram is inside the GPU. You forgot?

Great find mate

I see the R9 290x is a beast with DX12. No wonder they rebranded it (390x) and gave it a boost (8GB ram). 390x nearly performes as good as current high end cards in DX12. At the price of 360 euros.

Also on TressFX 3.0:

"We're on the verge of TressFX 3.0's arrival. It's incorporated in the Dawn Engine powering Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, the upcoming DirectX 12-ready game we're working on with Eidos Montreal. TressFX 3.0 brings improvements to collisions, shape preservation, stretchiness, wind effects, anti-aliasing and translucency.

So basically, TressFX 3.0 is AMD's answer to PhysX and NvidiaWorks in general. Great, now they just need to make this features implement on any AMD exclusive titles from now on. I know the new LaraCraft is going to be sporting TressFX3.0 too. I'm pretty excited about this more so than Nvidia's now.

OMG! Memory Bus: 2x 4096 (8192)-bit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So much power! 2xFuryX! very short pcb for dual graphics, amazing design. AMD really innovates!

VRMS and VRAM totally different.

VRMS control power delivery, the reason most people fried their 290(x) on stock reference coolers was because VRMS temps were too high.

Nevermind, after seeing the pics you post on the Fury PCB, I can see the VRMS.

Also, see that picture you posted

You can see the copper pipe going across the VRMS in-line with the AIO cooler. I was wondering what technique they were using the cool the VRMS.

Does anyone know how much could R9 390 cost in EU? 400EUR?

Well their conference really sucked but I am excited about the new cards, AMD always provides the same power for much cheaper. I'm curious about those nano cards, will they be much cheaper because their smaller? And will they be as good as the other single gpu cards?

Also interested in that dual gpu card, I bet it will be better then 2 cards in crossfire without the bottleneck in the way. And hopefully cheaper then 2 cards as well. Thats why I like AMD, just not their 3 hour conference's with nothing much to show.

Either next year there going to have to do better or maby there not right for E3. I think Bethesda had a much better debut then AMD, there welcome to stay at E3 for as many years as they like

While I'm glad to see Fury X is doing well against the 980 Ti (at least in syn benches anyway), I'm not sure I like the idea of having to mount a rad/fan unit to run one. Maybe some vendors will come up with more affordable non ref air cooled models.

SPLWF:

I'm tempted to buy it just because of the stock cooler, but I want to see how far OEMs can push the clocks on these Furies.

Well the non X version of Fury is air cooled by reference, and is matching up with the 980ti, but getting a water cooled gpu for the price of an air cooled, shouldn't be a negative.

will be interesting to see how they'll be pricing the non water cooled Fury X though, if there's just a 50 bucks difference between a Fury and Fury X air cooled, then everyone will just pick the Fury X.

The non X version is not competing with the 980Ti, idk where you got that idea from. A stock 980 at best.

From this one, also showcase the limitations of HBM, when only at 4gb, then again first a real concern at 6k-8k, lol.

But the non X Fury and 980ti are trading places on it. Fury 5 points ahead on FHD, then 1 point behind at QHD (extreme).

€380 ? >> https://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-289-MS&groupid=701&catid=56&subcat=3059

390 basically = 970 performance, but double vram for same price. 390x = 980 performance, but 390x has double vram and even cheaper. No reason choosing nvidia card anymore.

Now lets wait for Fury vs 980ti benchmarks.

Ah damn, they are actually more expensive than 290(x) release prices, here in the DK. Actually the 390 is more expensive than the 970, yet the 390x isn't much cheaper than the 980. i think it's the amount of vram that's making some shops going balls deep on the prices, even though the premium on Nvidia is high.

urgh, have a bad feeling that the Fury non X alone will be more than 700 Euro. For reference 980ti costs 800 Euro, here.

But the thing is theres no point getting 390x over 290x when you can find 290x close to half price now. Look > http://www.hardocp.com/article/2015/06/18/msi_r9_390x_gaming_8g_video_card_review/9#.VYMSBUZCyUk

Only, if you're after crossfire [2 or more 390's], and only then 8GB makes sense for gaming at 4K. A single 390x is pointless at 4K, making those 8GB of GDDR5 Vram well ..pointless.

And I hope FuryX is cheaper than 980ti

^oh no it's just my fear that the Fury gets heavily overpriced through this though, since i already got a 290, so however they price the 300 rehash line would probably tell the pricing of the Fury, although somewhere i did hope they would smack a fiji core on a 4-8gb gddr5 card as well, would have made more sense, instead of rehashing the 290 line and calling it 390 instead of normally getting the lower digit code, like 380.

And yes the Fury better be cheaper than the 980ti, else what's the point.

no doubt that the 290x right now is the best bargain card, it's like the 7950/7970.

Burgundy:

Hah yep I hate Nvidia pricing scheme for Europe: 980ti is $650 in US, but in UK its $900 ! Wtf ~38% markup = fuck yourself nvidia.
With AMD difference is much much smaller: 390x is what? $430 in us and $540 in uk. ~25% thats basically VAT + shipping = totally fair.

I'd expect similar trend to continue with Fury. So $650 launch in US for furyX would mean ~815$ in UK or ~€715 in EU]
Considering 980ti is €800 in Eu and has same launch price of $650 in US, so not that bad.

I think you're spot on with €700 something something ...unless theres very big shortage of stock at launch, then obviously some shops will add their usual 'sweetener' on top.

edit: you meant Fury [non X] Nah that should be ~€605 in EU. [$550 US RRP + 25%] Which is pretty freaking sweet deal for 980ti performance imo.

600 Euro for Fury non X sounds too good to be true, after the prices for 390x, Of course if some shops try to be competitive, it might be possible. I just hope some shop fucks up and just looks at the vram and thinks, "ah it's only 4gb, better set a better price than 390x", now that would poetic. xD
