As a guy who been around GT for a while I don't know if Nintendo fans got trolled as hard any where else as they have around this place. Unfortunately that's what I will remember the most about these forums. | |

The thing about the trolling here it wasn't like other boards where the were a huge number of idiots well at least not later on anyway but when a troll did turn up it was one of those super trolls, these are the trolls who you'd legitimately think were raised from childhood to troll. I remember Darj and the mega seller logic, the two moments the was a huge flamefest was when AC Revolution made a thread about the Wii possibly outselling the 360 in its first year. Holy shit that thread was a war zone for months and when the Wii outsold the 360 in 10 months the were a lot of people sent to the salt mines, the other moment was the now infamous "Do People Really Think Super Mario Galaxy Will be GOTY, LOL" thread, 5 months later after every troll having a pop at the game SMG became GOTY not only at GT but the majority of outlets leading to counter attacks and ownage on a level that you only see in memes. | |
I dunno, since I left the Nintendo fandom I can't be even mad at anti Nintendo trolls anymore, I even subscribed to ReviewTechUSA and StonefoxMedia while unsubbing a bunch of pro Nintendo youtubers like PlayersEssence, ZenGamer, ZyroXZ2 or DocTre, and of course Nintendo themself. Only one I kept is NintendoEnthusiast because Shawn Long is just a cool motherfucker. | |

I think you missed the point. The point was that we would be here, on GT, in the Nintendo section; then some troll who cared nothing about Nintendo or played would just start crap to harass and derail the thread. Especially during the heydays of the Wii and DS people would just pop in on a thread with blatant trolling and GT mods would do nothing about it. It was literally OK to troll Nintendo threads. The only way to get away from it was to join one of the groups or factions for private threads. | |

It depends on when you visited the forums. There was a time where Ps3 fans took the most shit, but then the Nintendo fans got a lot of it later on. | |
With leaving I mean that Nintendo is now on the same level as Sony and MS for me, I used to put them above the other 2 (and Sega in the past). I will still buy their games as long they are uncensored and good, but I won't do any exceptions just because it's Nintendo anymore, like I don't think I will buy the next Mario Kart or Smash Bros unless they up their game and give those games actual singleplayer content, Sonic Racing Transformed showed how to make a decent SP mode for a fun racer. The next Smash Bros would need a proper story mode again to make me purchase it, Subspace Emmisary or whatever it's called in english was great and makes Brawl my favorite Smash Bros. Tbh I mainly bought MK8 and Smash Bros for 3DS and Wii U because of fanboyism, but ultimately was very disappointed in all of them, same for Splatoon. That together with the recent censorship in several Nintendo games and openly SJW treehouse members like that cunt Alison Rapp, making it obvious that NoA wants to cater to those neo faschists, made me decide that I'm done with my fanboyism, I'm even skipping on Bravely Second. | |

I was a Nintendo apologist when the Wii came out. I even made a blog about all the upcoming Wii games to be excited about. Oh god I was so naive. The WiiU kinda made up for the monumental pile of dogshit that was the Wii, but Nintendo has been shooting themselves in the foot for a long time now and I grew tired of trying to rationalize why. | |

I loved the Wii and the Wii U. The Wii U has amazing software but not a lot of it. The GameCube is still my favorite console of all time. Everything was just perfect. | |
