Game of the Year Awards: Best Platformer, Most Disappointing, & More

We started handing out Game of the Year Awards yesterday and there are already some great videos posted. A look at some of the highlights…

Best Downloadable Game

I spend most of my time playing downloadable titles, so this category is one of my favorites.

The Walking Dead and Journey are two of the best games I’ve played this year and I would have been happy to see either win.

Most Disappointing Game

What a great list of awful games.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Declassified seemed the most painful to me…

Best Platformer

I’m a sucker for a good platformer, so I enjoyed playing all the nominees from this category.

Although I’m still working through, and loving, New Super Mario Bros. U, I don’t think it can compete with Sound Shapes.

Best Expansion

Borderlands 2 and World of Warcraft were the two stand out nominees for me here.

The Borderlands 2 DLC definitely goes above and beyond the average map or weapons packs and adds hours of new action, story, and humor to the already great game. That said, it’s hard to complete with a World of Warcraft expansion. Mists of Pandaria adds a ton of new content to a game that is already bursting at the seams.
