As much as I say that the Mavs/Spurs are the best rivalry in the game right now, I think that the Mavs/Suns are the best matchup.
No Rashard Lewis tonight. Scratch that, Lewis will play. It doesn't matter, though. If you have Dwight Howard on your team, you are good. Howard is a man-beast, and will be one of the best players in the league for years to come.
The Mavs are meeting the Rockets for the 3rd of their 4 times in the first 25 games of the season. Do I think that's wrong that a team can meet one of their divisional opponents so many times at the beginning of the season? Yes. Am I complaining about it? No.

I Tivoed this game, but it was erased before I got to watch it. From the highlights (or lowlights) that I saw, it's probably a good thing. The Mavs had nothing. Remember that turning point I was hoping for in that New York game? You can throw that out the window.

I get it that it's hard to play the Spurs tough and down to the wire one night, then face up against the free-wheeling, run-and-gun Nuggets the very next night, but the Mavs were never really in sync as a team in this game.
Tim Duncan didn't play in this game. It may surprise you that I'm upset by that. I think it sets the Mavs up for a no-win situation. If the Mavs win, then they should have won because Duncan was out, and no one is impressed.

Avery Johnson went back to his tried and true starting lineup from last year that helped them to 67 wins, placing Jason Terry and Erick Dampier back in the starting lineup to try to end this losing streak. It worked, for now, but Terry will be back on the bench soon.
I got to go to this game (thanks to my father-in-law for taking me), and I was purely disgusted. I've seen some bad Mavs games in person, but this game might just take the cake because the other s**ty games were played by s**ty teams. This team is better than that.
If you see the Mavs going to Milwaukee on the schedule, you can pretty much chalk up a loss. The Bucks could go 1-81, and the Mavs could go 81-1, but that one win/loss would be the Mavs in Milwaukee. It's almost scientific. The Mavs are 5-21 in Milwaukee in their entire history.
This was a hard game to go back and watch knowing the outcome and the events that transpired. Bennett Salvatore, known Mavs-hating ref, was calling the game, and Avery didn't just get kicked out of the game.
