Henin had a straight sets 6-4 6-3 win over Elena Vesnina.

8th seed Serena Williams has defeated Shahar Peer 6-3 6-3 at the Internazionali BNL d'Italia in Rome to progress to the quarterfinals.

Serena Williams has crushed Maria Sharapova in straight sets 6-1 6-2 to win the Australian Open for the 3rd time. It is Seena William's 8th major title. Williams became the first unseeded player in 29 years to capture the title.

Maria Sharapova will take on Serena Williams in the final of the Australian Open. Sharapova cruised past Kim Clijsters in their semi final winning in straight sets 6-4 6-2.
