Newest Version of Omniture SiteCatalyst Reveals Impact and Effectiveness of Viral Video Campaigns
OREM, Utah and Omniture Summit, LONDON – April 21, 2009 – Omniture, Inc. (NASDAQ: OMTR), a leading provider of online business optimization software, today announced that the newest version of Omniture SiteCatalyst allows marketers to now more effectively measure viral video across video sharing sites. SiteCatalyst is a key component of the Omniture Online Marketing Suite, an integrated portfolio of optimization applications for Visitor Acquisition, Conversion, Online Analytics and Multi-Channel Analytics.
Measuring viral video impact on customer acquisition and conversion is a significant challenge for marketers today and many have found it difficult to bridge the gap between a consumer’s interaction with a viral video and that consumer’s behavior on the marketer’s site. In addition, marketers have previously had to review information for each video sharing site individually and often with a lag time of 30 – 90 days. With the new viral video capabilities within SiteCatalyst, online marketers now have an integrated solution that delivers increased insight into the performance of viral video campaigns and how they potentially impact consumer behavior and interaction with the publisher’s Web site.
Omniture customers who sell advertising against online video are also able to better monetize their video content across the most popular video sharing sites such as YouTube and similar sites. The new feature aggregates viral video viewing information daily from video sharing sites into a single dashboard. Omniture customers can use these up-to-date metrics to provide timely and more accurate reports into the number of consumers who have viewed the video and are better able to understand ad performance and the revenue associated with each video.
"Intrawest is a leader in experiential destination resorts and a key part of our online marketing initiatives involve presenting video clips showcasing our resorts,” said Rob Morrow, Director, Web Marketing & Analytics at Intrawest. “With Omniture’s video measurement capabilities we will be able to not only determine which clips are most interesting from our customers’ perspective, but we will also understand video performance on external video sharing sites. This represents a big step in bringing together performance data for all aspects of our online marketing strategies.”
According to a report from eMarketer.com, the growth of online video viewing and video advertising remains robust. The report forecasts key figures for 2013, including:
“With this new functionality, the Omniture Online Marketing Suite is helping our customers better monetize their content, better understand how consumers are interacting with their video and how viral video may be contributing to successful campaigns with consumers,” said Aseem Chandra, SVP of Product Marketing, Omniture. “Omniture will continue to provide customers with innovative solutions to optimize their marketing efforts on new and emerging digital channels.”
