Launched in 2008, the Film London Jarman Award recognises artists working with moving image and whose work resists conventional definition. The Award is inspired by visionary avant-garde filmmaker Derek Jarman, one of the most esteemed and controversial artists of the late 20th century. Crane.tv caught up with this year's winners, London-based filmmakers Anja Kirschner and David Panos. The duo creates ambitious, richly layered films that consider the possibilities of (or do you really mean for?) political art and social transformation. As winners, Kirschner and Panos received £10,000 in prize money and a Channel 4 short film commission, for new strand ?Random Acts?, worth £20,000. www.filmlondon.org.uk/networks/artists_network/jarman_award
