Minimum Wage Increase Will Pass Says House Speaker

House Speaker Paul Thissen says he is optimistic that a compromise will be reached on a minimum wage bill this session and it will pass. He says that several times in response to reporter questions about the negotiations on the bill, which is in a conference committee. Both the House and Senate have agreed on a $9.50 figure, but there is disagreement about other issues including "indexing" which would raise the minimum wage by the same amount inflation goes up.
