CT Residents Get Hate Mail for Flying American Flags
Lt. Col. Ralph Peters (Ret.) pushed back this morning on the "accepted Washington, D.C., wisdom" that China could eventually rein in North Korea.
The Fox News strategic analyst said it's "groupthink" and that Beijing wants Pyongyang to remain a thorn in the side of the United States.
Peters reacted to the news that China launched a series of 20 missiles at mock targets designed to look like American THAAD missile batteries.
The test-launches over the weekend came after North Korea tested a record-setting intercontinental ballistic missile on Friday.

Peters questioned why China would help the United States, as President Trump continues to call for on Twitter.
I am very disappointed in China. Our foolish past leaders have allowed them to make hundreds of billions of dollars a year in trade, yet...

...they do NOTHING for us with North Korea, just talk. We will no longer allow this to continue. China could easily solve this problem!

Peters said China is the "key beneficiary" whether or not a war breaks out.
"China will never decisively help us against North Korea," he said, adding that right now, the provocations from North Korea are keeping the U.S. occupied.
He said if the worst-case scenario occurs and North Korea explodes a nuclear weapon over Hawaii, Beijing would benefit because U.S. military resources would be diverted to a response.
"People aren't thinking militarily on this. ... This is a possibility for China to achieve its #1 strategic dream. Driving the U.S. from the Pacific without Beijing firing a single shot," said Peters.
He argued there is no "right button to press" for the Trump administration in order to change China's thinking.
